How can anyone be a fan of a fighter that clearly don’t want the best fights?

He once posted that Ward was a wife beater and claimed he had the links to prove it. I've pressed him repeatedly for those links and to date he's produced ZERO!

He sold him out in Australia then fed Horn to Bud. Right? Pac cut everybody off after that. Yeah man Horn was never supposed to win that..much less “controversially”. I doubt that was planned just to feed Bud because beating Horn did zero for him or Arum. It’s the big platform Pac would have brought to show everyone Bud but..s hit happens I guess. Problem is, these guys have managers, promoters, trainers, that have a say. Fans have this simple vision of the sport that two guys decide to fight each other. Money dictates everything in this sport. AJ is protected and his promoter has kept him away from the best fight possible for him. But, I'm not going to dislike AJ because of that. If it continued on for years, I'd then hold him responsible for not finding a new promoter. If I automatically disliked everyone who didn't always fight the best, they're would no one to like in this sport right now.

Top Rank couldn't get Pacquiao-Crawford done when that was the fight for Crawford to build him into a star. Do people forget about this? To be fair, I think Pac wasn’t interested as Arum didnt want to pay him what he wanted and he knew full well this was for Crawford’s benefit and not his. Pacquiao’s legacy is set, he’s not hurting for that type of fight at this stagewhen hes fought better. Let Arum sell you out? I guess he was done with that ish. PRIDE! If a guys is from their Country, City, State, Continent or whatever, fans will stick up for that guy no matter what clearly, even when their guy is ducking quality opponents to protect a 0, Belt or Positioning in the Sport those fans will go out of their way to make excuses for him

He wanted the fight. But he wanted his $20 mil guarantee. Bud was much more beatable at that stage than he is now. Bob didn't want to make that investment into Bud. I just remember Roach saying in 2017 that he didn’t want Manny taking that fight. I don’t think Manny deep down wanted it either to be honest at this point. If he wanted it it would easily be made since he’s still the biggest fighter in boxing outside of Canelo.

That's why I'm a fan of Andre Ward. He's always wanted the best fights. When he came off his layoff he told them to give me one of the boogeymen. Either Kovalev or GGG. I give Danny Garcia a lot of **** but he has taken the best fights. It's those fights in between the best fights...... Canelo is another one who has always taken the best fights. Ward is the first guy I thought of that is the complete opposite of what this thread is about. He always fought the best possible opposition that he could.

Pacquiao at this stage in his career doesn’t want high risk fights like that anymore. The guy is almost 40 so I can’t really blame him to a degree. He should just take the Floyd rematch & than call it a day since I don’t want to see Pacquiao only fight B/C level fighters outside of Floyd.

Examples of said fighters? I think its hard to say who's wanting or not wanting to fight the best at the top levels of the sport. There are too many alliances with networks, promoters & ABC groups that make sh^t difficult from jump street. You either gotta believe everything a fighter says or not believe anything they say on a selective basis to make huge assumptions like that. There are available TV date issues. There are mando issues. There are money issues. There are small print contract issues like options & rematches. There is so much bs going on to make a fight in this era I think its usually just an unfair thing to say many guys aren't willing to fight anyone if its something that can legit be done, it legit makes sense & its legit money. lol I didn’t really want to mention specific fighters since it’ll probably turn the thread into a huge heated argument which isn’t my intention. But I just don’t see how it can be that difficult if for instance 2 fighters under the same network can’t make the fight happen. Something tells me 1 of them doesn’t want the fight. In the case of something like Crawford vs. Spence I get it since it’s 2 fighters under 2 different networks & promoters which makes things a lot more difficult. But if 2 fighters that fight on Showtime can’t get a fight somewhat easily done than there’s a problem there.

I am not really up to speed with American boxing politics but there are some extremely talented American fighters fighting beneath their talent level
