The first fight of MayPac was snooze fest for casuals. They have no interest in seeing a rematch. Due to the brawl that happened after Khabib/Conor, the fight has been getting more and more exposure, and that rematch will draw much more attention. Do you think MayPac2 could draw bigger numbers than Khabib/Conor 2?
Sadly MMA just has no PPV pull. And Floyd is the PPV king. Even at 45 years or whatever Floyd is...nobody can top him in PPV.
It did 2.4mill on PPV. That's an outstanding number especially in this day and age where PPV is not what it once was. I think people have forgot how awfully Mayweather did on PPV vs Berto. People will tune in to watch Floyd on PPV but only if it makes sense. Would he do PPV in the millions vs some bum? Obviously not.
No, $2 million was his base guarantee. On top of that he will get a percentage of the gate and PPV sales.
No MMA fighter gets a percentage of the gate outside of probably McGregor. The champions only get a PPV cut additionally and that's typically only if it goes past a certain number of PPVs.
I don't understand why anyone would want to see Khabib vs Conor 2. Khabib completely dominated that fight and not for one second did I think Conor was going to win.
Conor won round 3. I'm a massive Khabib fan and I initially thought Khabib won every minute of the fight but I rewatched round 3 and Conor actually won the round. He was fairly gassed at that point but was catching Khabib. Khabib rode the shots well and has a good chin. Conor can make a case, he was 2 years out of the game and with his record in rematches, he can come back to win. I still think Khabib will beat him but he can sell it like he has a chance.
He even losts the stand up exchanges in the fight and Khabib landed the biggest punch of the fight when he dropped mcgreggor.
Mcgreggor has no chance in a rematch with him. Hes shut out of a boxing rematch with floyd too with floyd and pac talking. IDK what he is going to do, fight diaz again or something. Fight paulie malinagi? lol
Mcgreggor is over as far as being elite in MMA, I dont think he can beat diaz again. He is at that point in his career where his name is much bigger than his abilities, he can no longer win against the best and will continue to take L's but he can generate tons of money, people arent going to want to see him take multiple losses in a row. He needs to be carefully matched or they lose out on huge earnings potential.
If McGregor fought Diaz at 155lbs, he would beat Diaz. If they fought again, Diaz would have been out of the game for 3 years. Conor would have had 2 MMA fights and a Boxing match in that time. on top of that, Diaz is older than Conor, has taken more damage throughout his career and will be fighting at Conors best weight class not at 170lbs where he had a distinct advantage.
I think he has the excuse of being out for 2 years on hand right now. He needs to fight someone like Kevin Lee (or Al Iaquina if he beats Lee in December) or maybe even Tony Ferguson. Khabib will likely be suspended for at least 6-9 months. Ferguson and Lee are both there to be hit. Lee doesn't have a great chin or defence. Ferguson has awful defence and not a great chin (excellent recovery however). I think Kevin Lee would be a better tune-up for his rematch vs Khabib though as Lee can grapple (more wrestle than overall grappling). If he loses against any of them, then it's over.
Even if he beats Diaz, it doesn't really mean that he can beat Khabib as they're completely different fighters.
Is there a point in Khabib/McGregor rematch at all other than money? McGregor got dominated and forced to submit to the superior fighter https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DpN7PjyX4AAfnkb.jpg

Floyd-pac 1 and Floyd-Mcgreggor both did over 4 million ppv.
Floyd-pac 2 will still do really well, even if they barely promote it, it still gets over 2 million ppv.
When you consider the second highest ppv fights in boxing were floyd-canelo and floyd-dlh and those were in the 2 million ppv range, a rematch with pac still makes a ton of money without them even trying hard. Its almost impossible for it to flop. It could do half the numbers of their first fight and still be in the top few biggest ppv fights of all time.

May-Pac 2 all the floyd haters will awaken again. And all the pac fans as well
It's been a while. Most of them will have forgotten the login codes for their alt accounts by now.
The flomos will still have theirs doe. They will have been using them regularly in GGG and Eddie Hearn threads.

Coincidentally, I watched Khabib/McTapper for the first time last night. Or at least, I watched parts of it, because it was so damned boring that I ended up fast forwarding the video multiple times, till I ended up at the post-fight brawl without seeing anything remotely interesting happen in the fight itself.
Yeah, May/Pac was a snoozefest .. but Khabib and Conor in the octagon together are tamazepam on legs. Or on its back, in Conor's case.
I know that MMA fans are masochists - which is why it's so popular in the US - but masochistic enough to want to pay to watch **** like that again?

You can say ring rust, but well, still a bad match up for him and he got smashed and dominated.
Khabib/Conor rematch can do upwards of 1.3M.
As for May/Pac...I can't imagine asking my buddies to watch that fight again without being laughed out of the room.
may/pac 2 will do $2-3M trust.
Khabib-Mcgregor 2 is more pointless than a Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch. At least we don't know how much Mayweather has left. We know Mcgregor has no chance.
I think Connor has a lot left but I can’t see how he can beat Khabib
Just a horrible match up for him

I didn't see that. In that case I'd vote anything with Conor in iit next
It wasnt just because Connor was in it, it was because of the significance and intrigue, Connor gets smashed again there is no intrigue.
What? UFC 229 did over 2 million buys on Saturday. That's not bad at all.
Nice, so Khabib got a dollar for every buy. Gotta love the UFC pay structure!
