This dude was the epitome of a boring cheater. All that excessive clinching & head butts were disgusting to see & even worse a ref never too a point away. All Ward did was throw 1-2 then clinch or head butt. Ward inside game was alright not on Errol Spence level. What was even worse were his fans would called that sweet science master class boxing.
Seriously I like the dude as a person but as a boxer he is a piece of ****!
It's a funny one with Ward. I think most people can relate to a technically or physically limited fighter using rough tactics (within certain limits). The fact that Ward was none of those is what leads to my frustration with him; he was a skillful and intelligent fighter who didn't need to fight dirty, he simply chose to.
The second Kovalev fight sums it up. He lands a great right hand, all we need now is a conclusive finish; Ward batters him around the balls. Why? I also didn't like the Chad Dawson episode where he clearly drained him down.
He doesn't need to do those things but he does them. If he gets into jam he resorts to the dirty stuff. The Kessler fight was absolutely disgusting and he got away with it. Reminded me of Andrew Golotta except Golotta was nuts and Andre isn't. Then there is the phoney moniker SOG. The SOG fires off low blows and deals out headbutts. Come on what a load of BS..
Where did Ward fight Kovalev and Froch? Fights that just happen to be the biggest of his career
Oh yeah, I guess he won that gold medal in Oakland
Still in his home country.
Explain? What like the business reasons? :lol1:
He would have whipped Kessler at will. ANYTIME.
Guess Kessler was too irrelevant, mf'er..
That's why Ward only fought at home where he could headbutt his way to victory.
By making him blind. Explain why Ward rejected a career high payday for a rematch against Kessler in Copenhagen.

Joe Calzaghe would've hit him 3-4 times every time he tried to clinch
and Sven Ottke would've annihilated him by decision (in Germany ofc)
Instead of śn1ggèr change your name to bracker or sincest
It's this sort of crying I've been referring to. ^^^^^
Ward annihilated Kessler, idiot.

No, the controversy around this subject is that Kessler had no chance of winning regardless of the headbutts yet the Calzaghe reputation preservationists try to make it seem like it was a factor.
It had to have been a "factor" man. He split Kessler eye open with a mean headbutt
Calzaghe is a much different fighter than Kessler
:lol1: "armchair fan."
You got the ticket stub from the fight, then?
I have the on-site program still, kid. I saw it the other day along with some other old programs from fights I went to. Trinidad-Mayorg was another for example.
I was at the Calzaghe-Kessler fight, kid. So I’ve probably been around for a lot more fights than you. Armchair fan. You claim to be from Cupey Alto too lol I’ve seen that fighters favorite son live more time than you and no TV doesn’t count. Typical armchair fan trying to puff out a “hardcore chest” but are just another casual armchair fan.

lmao kid I'm referring to important history you clearly haven't been around for.

Ward fought very dirty against Kessler, Bika, and in the Kovalev rematch. No matter how much I like him as a fighter, I won't deny that.
But if you try to make the case that he always fought like he did in those fights, you're wrong. You're just plain wrong. It's like saying Mayweather spent his whole career running and fighting boringly. You're taking your frustrations of a couple fights and falsely applying it to their entire careers.
thats the truth ,he was great fighter but dirty at some points and that leaves some bitterness in many ppl ,unfortunetly when Ward name will be mentioned many people will think about this dirty moments.

Yeah I never was a fan of Ward to be honest. Seems like a knowledgeable guy but at times biased against fighters like GGG. I never was a fan of his style. I mean it clearly worked for him and with that style you're gonna probably end up taking less damage in the long run. But it's far from fan friendly. That's not to say I don't like defensive fighters but I like when they mix in some offense like a Juan Manuel Marquez for example. I thought he was very technical but his offense was also explosive.
5 unintentional headbutts against Kessler.. Two maybe.. But fúcking five? All against the same guy? Yeah, that's foul play, and why Ward ran away from a very very very lucrative offer for a rematch in Denmark, where he would have been banned from the sport for a lifetime for that unsportmanslike bullshít.
It's this sort of crying I've been referring to. ^^^^^

he literally used his head as his main weapon against Kessler.
I don;t think anyone is really butthurt, just shocked it was allowed to happen

Not really and I haven’t seen people hyping Kessler up too much. That’s probably in your head to suit some agenda. You fit in well here.
lmao kid I'm referring to important history you clearly haven't been around for.
Ward is extremely dull and frustrating to watch, however he is effective.
He uses dirty, spoiling tactics and can make adjustments to an opponents style as well as Floyd could.
Overall he won't be remembered as anything special, he has zero charisma and hid in Oakland for years stinking out the local arena. He was also very inactive in his 'prime'...then turned into a diva for the Kovalev fights.
