Anyone have any inside info on Zhilei? AJ beat him in the Olympics but I can't remember him. Currently 19-0 (15 KO) and based in the US, but never really fought anyone as a Pro.
The Dragon King is the only fight Big bang needs to stop ducking!

:lol1: The guy that was being investigated for putting non-existent fights on his record and paying other guys to take early dives? Dragon King don't want that work
Big Bang is knocking out everyone in sight! Should fight someone liker Gerber or Fedosov next, maybe Kabayel in Monaco?

I don't know this guy but it interests me. I would quite like to go to a random country like China and incorporate a holiday into watching Joshua at the same time. It would obviously depend on where and when but I like it!
I think this is all wishful thinking from the guy wanting a pay day after reading into the detail though
He won today. Next set to be on Matchroom's Monaco card. This is happening, lol https://mobile.twitter.com/MichaelBensonn/status/1045742726539546624?p=v
It would have been a massive fight if it was wilder fighting this Chinese guy.
That's wilder 's standard. He loves guys ranked outside red zone. He fought the likes for so longggg.
Do you know if he's been mainly fighting in his homeland as that might explain his record - I don't think any opposition would choose to go there unless there's something significant in it for them. If he's been fighting out of USA or Eastern Europe - even Japan - there should be better names on his account. Zhang definitely has ability, maybe it's belief that's his problem in conjunction with his age. He might just be looking for a big cash out after so many years on the amateur scene - and not interested in high risk/low reward fights,
He's based in America and all but 2 of his fights have been there (the other 2 in China).
I agree he is probably looking for a cash out, or to build up a big record and KO% before going back to china with a title.... maybe?
Who knows, the guy can obviously box and is definitely top 50 in the world. After picking up the WBO title he can get to the top 15 in that org or thereabouts, then he should be fighting for international titles to move up the rankings. He's only 2 fights away from the top 10 in an org with the way things work.
Imagine if this was one of his 2 fights a year (seems to be how he is doing it nowadays) :lol1:
Ok if its a random extra as a money/marketing grab, but if you are fighting twice a year in your prime, both fights need to be top contenders or fellow champions. No time for filler.
The first thing I questioned when I looked at his record was "Why has this guy not stepped up at 35 and after 19 fights?" that set alarm bells ringing straight away to me. If you look at Joyce, the narrative around him is - he is 32 so needs to move quick - why do you think this guy hasn't?
At his current level he would only be a decent win for guys like Gorman or Dubois, fringe-British level guys. Whyte, Chisora and Hughie would all beat him.
his next fight is for the WBO oriental title, against the American #38? explain that to me?
It's quite clear this guy is feasting on absolute bums and in no rush. Until he fights someone in the top 50 of the world I can't take him seriously..... there is a big difference between amateur and pro. A medal winning amateur at his age should NEVER have such an abysmal record after 19/20 fights.

He does need to test himself a bit higher up the ladder, baring in mind his age he needs to do so ASAP. Maybe against another fellow former amateur standout of similar pro experience? Yoka was a good shout, maybe Joyce, Hrgovic, Dychko, Kuzmin?
A former contender along the lines of Helenius, Malik Scott, Ustinov, Dimitrenko etc would be a lesser gamble in terms of the result, but if he loses to any of these he may as well throw the towel in on a career in pro boxing.

These are guys outside the top 40 btw, there is no guarantee he would beat a Helenius, Yoka or Milas, because he has not fought any one better than them yet.
We could go into guys in the top 20/30's if you want?

Not seen Milas fight so can't comment on him.
Yoka definitely has potential, but considering his current ban on fighting in France, he seriously need to consider giving up home comforts - at least for a little while.
I have to disagree on Helenius though. A few years ago he was a top contender, but things have not gone his way for various reasons and he's one more bad performance from retirement these days. Against Whyte he looked like he was back to his best in the first 2 rounds, but then achieved the square root of ****-all for the rest of the fight..

Where do you get such a high ranking for someone who hasn't had a ranked fight yet?
being linked to an AJ fight gets you put in the top 15 brah.
regardless of if nobody's heard of the guys name until this thread.
Tyson Fury is an ex-unified champion. Most boxers come straight back into top 15 after a hiatus if their past achievements are like Fury's.
This guy is no where near the top 15 of active fighters, I wouldn't even put him in the top 5 in the U.K. There is literally 0 pro fights where his opposition has been above British level.
There's guys behind him on Boxrec I'd pick to beat him - Tony Yoka, Petar Milas, Helenius. All far more proven.

I don't see how this is a bad choice. Population of China is almost 1.4 billion, and they apparently get behind their sports stars. Probably be massive viewership.
How famous is this Zhang fella over there. Could literally stick on a PPV for a couple of quid and smash the PPV records. £2 x 400,000,000, lol, smash anything Mayweathers done
Just an estimation from what I've seen of him in amateurs and the little I've seen as a pro so far. Admittedly I may be overestimating him, but he's definitely above the Alex Dimitrenko, Malik Scott and Razvan Cojanu level of HW.
Mind you, how does Tyson Fury get ranked by WBC after a 3 year lay off, and looking average at best against an old CW no-one has heard of and a D-level Journeyman HW?
