Fury and Frank Warren have always demanded a 50/50 split and seem unwilling to budge. Eddie Hearn and AJ are totally unwilling to do business at that split and treat it as a ridiculous demand. What do you think would be a fair split?
Theoretically:
Tyson Fury, 28-0, Lineal/WBC champion, won all the belts and never lost them in the ring.
vs.
Anthony Joshua, 22-0, IBF/IBO/WBA Super/WBO champion and the cashcow of the division.
To be fair to Tyson, done right, this could break all records for gate and PPV. He could certainly play his part in making this bigger than any previous AJ fight. He is a big name in the UK and would deserve a bigger split than Deontay Wilder. I would say 60/40 in AJ's favour would be a good starting point. Maybe if Fury wins, the split could be the same for the rematch, but in his favour.
It’s hard to justify 50/50 for fury. What’s his highest grossing U.K. event? Has he even headlined his own ppv here?
Nope, but he has the bad guy versus good guy (Joshua) angle. Which would sell a lot here. He would definitely sell and win the fight once he is back to his best (Probably after another 3/4 fights).
