this guy was known to have endurance issues. to breathe hard late in fights. in fact this happened to him in the first GGG fight.
this time there were no signs of gassing out at all. gas tank was on full for 12 rounds.
and also didn't he look way bigger vs Khan than he did here? his legs shrunk. those shoulder bulging muscles evaporated.
it seems going clean made him faster and more dangerous.
clean Canelo > clenbuterol Canelo.
Nelos good at defending his stomach from bodysh ots. Nelo likes dishing those out but don't like taking them.
If he'd taken more he wouldn't have been so energetic in 12th.
Nel o knows that. Not taking body shots made Nell appear to have done better than he did
clean Canelo is a scray opponent for anybody. you can say he didnt move as much.. but i think he was actually expending more energy walking GGG down and avoiding those bombs with upper body movement. he walked right into the lions den on his front foot looking for a war. GGG wanted to box though.
I was expecting Canelo to gas out after round 6. It was a bit surprising that he didn't totally run out of gas because he's always had suspect stamina. For those who say, "He wasn't moving as much as the first fight". He was actually fighting more and expending more energy. He was also getting hit a lot more. If Canelo had this kind of stamina potential, why is this the first time we've seen it? Maybe he's an anomaly and his stamina improves as he ages ;)

He called in to Marquez Espn show yesterday and Marquez Asked him how he worked on his stamina and he mentioned he did extra sparring light sprinting and very little leg strengthening exercises because they didn't feel comfortable putting added strain on his knee so soon after his surgery
He came in lighter this time which was smart. He also stood his ground more and moved a lot less so its not surprising his stamina was a little better.
My theory; he tested positive because a lot of the beef in Mexico has been given clen. He trained to have better stamina for the 2nd fight, which is why he was leaner.
His stamina was moderately better, but not great.
He toned down his physique which I correctly predicted would help with his stamina. He also stayed in the center of the ring which I correctly predicted would improve his chances. He cut down on the excessive body movements which I predicted would help his stamina. He stayed off the ropes which I correctly predicted would help him on the score cards. I'm also correctly saying Canelo lost that fight. One caveat. I thought Golovkin would go to the body and hurt Canelo leading to an late round KO. Didn't happen.
He already fought GGG once, he knew what adjustments he needed to do for the rematch.
Did he really took some of that stuff? We will never know, but I'll tell you this...
When you eat more healthy and train in a more quality > quantity way, you will feel the difference in energy and will have a better outcome in whatever physical event you partake.
He looked superb, he stood his ground and gave trouble to GGG when he went to the body a couple of times.
Was the fight close? Yes it was...I still had GGG over him in my scorecards not by much.
Let me give you a small piece of advice that can make a big difference when it comes to training your body.
Never train when you're in a hurry, you won't get the desired results and the workout you crave when your mind is somewhere else.
Quality > quantity, instead of doing 4 - 5 reps of 12 so you can rapidly move unto the next exercise, do 3 - 4
reps with 8 - 10 reps that you can feel and suffer for them, specially if you do the exercise in a slow, focused manner.
Too much time in the training session/gym = No good training at all. If you start a set for biceps with 3 - 4 reps of 12, take from 45 to 1 minute of rest time before doing the next. We waste too much time talking to others, looking at cell and thinking about crap before we finish the whole set.
One of the main reasons when I train a bit, I do it alone and with nothing else on my mind when I'm about to hit it.
I know I went off topic a bit but wisdom is good for the soul :beerchug:
