Listen up.
Fighters not named Spense, or Crawford, or Alvarez. I have news for you.
To me they are P4P worthy.
Weither undefeated, a loss, or outstanding resume, these dudes are serious, & non casuals need to take a look: (in no random order)
Regis Progrias
The Charlo Bros
Miguel Berchelt
Dimity Bivol
Elder Alvarez
Jose Uzcategui
Isaac Dogboe
Jarred Hurd
Carl Framton
Badou Jack.
Just my opinion.
Since the P4P list has guys who never fought top contenders, mandatory defenses, or P4P fighters themselves.
Just taking belts from B, & C level fighters, and calling themselves the GOAT.
My list has guys who earn their keep, & fight top contenders, and do not have that luxury of ducking mandatories.
Lets see your list.
That's the way I feel about Crawford, as well as ESJ.
Weak resume, and weak belt holders.
Tell me what is the difference between Indago,Lajuan Simon, Chris Algiri compared to Bundrage, Sullivan Berrara, ,Andre Derrell, or AustinTrout?
You see where I'm going with this.
Either the P4P list is based on a "Fantasy type" of rating.
Potential is the paramount instead of actually fighting the top guys in your division .....
If that is the case, then the guys that I mentioned have just as much, if not more "Fantasy Potential " then the P4P bunch....
Yeah I'm pretty sure the Charlo brothers dont fit the description at the bottom lol, and whats bivol done that's so special either? In fact half the people you've mentioned have barely beat anyone above b level if at all
Yeah, I'm not sure if that's a p4p list or a list of fighters he likes.
If he considers those fighters better than Lomachenko, Usyk, Inoue, Garcia, Santa Cruz, Joshua, Estrada, Rungvisai etc; etc; then that's a bit crazy.
Not sold on the Charlo's their competition level is bad but they are big characters and have fun styles they can make for great fights. I think Hurd will unify against Jermell. Jack and Frampton are really good but have probably peaked. Jack IMO has been particularly unlucky in all of those "draws".
Dogboe definitely looks to have the goods and I like Prograis a lot. It will be interesting if it's him and Taylor in the final of the WBSS perhaps it would be a 50/50 by then as Taylor has just passed an important test and has excellent talent.
I'd add Benavidez at 168 who can potentially take over that division. Gvozdyk at 175 has all the tools and if his chin is fine I think top dog will be between him and Bivol. I think Munguia is deserving of a mention. He's not polished but he's tough has a ton of fight in him and is very strong. His level of activity is great too he wants to fight. He'll also have GBP helping him if fights are close.
A trio of top prospects that will be making serious noise 18 months or so from now are Vergil Ortiz, Josh Kelly and Devin Haney. I think Teofimo Lopez can be a very good fighter too but I'd put him a notch below those three.
There's some exciting fighters out there and good new blood. I just hope the right fights happen and aren't overly marinated because out of big fights you get other options and big fights which is far better than putting all the eggs in one basket for one big event.
