No order lol:
Muhammad Ali
Roy Jones Jr
Floyd Mayweather Jr
Hector Camacho
Manny Pacquiao
Just missed the cut:
Meldrick Taylor, Mike Tyson, Edwin Valero, Pernell Whitaker, Ed Hopson, Sugar Ray Robinson, Shane Mosley, Willie Pep, Roberto Duran, Oscar De La Hoya, and Ike Williams.
List yours.
There's a lot of good names posted, RJJ, PacMan, etc. all greats, but an almost (but not so) great had really fast hands that should get an honorable mention.... Chris Byrd. I think he started out as a middleweight and moved up to heavy so he had a speed advantage on the big guys, he would hit them with 4 or 5 pitty-pat shots before they could get in one power shot.

Now I'm a proponent of the "speed beats power" concept of the game, but being "fastest" doesn't always win the fight. Ol' Ike Ibeabuchi feared not the pillow fisted attack and knocked the spit outta his azz.

*Sorry I just had to figure out a way to use that GIF, it's my all time fav.
Lmao lol...
Crazy as it may sound...many people vouch for Ali being that fast. So Raggamuffin is not a minority opinion on the relative merits of Ali's speed across weight classes.
I can never decide the quickest, the best... but I can list some guys who I think were very fast...however it is easier for me to use the term "quick." Quick IMO = educated speed. This way we don't get into guys who's speed did not translate into effective strategy.
Telepeo Stevenson and Ali were both described as heavyweights with the speed of fast middle weights, Stevenson was faster on more punches than Ali but Ali's jab and lead were much faster than Stevenson's fastest punch. So these two guys were imo the fastest heavyweights I saw.
Jones for sure had incredible speed, especially with his single punches. Sugar Ray Robinson had faster combinations so Jones had single punch speed and Robinson combo speed and these are two of the quickest in the middle weight divisions.
When we start going down the list we have guys like Leonard, Camacho, I am sure i will think of more later.
Why thank you Bill lol.
Bol, this is very simple. Ali is just as fast as any fighter who ever lived no matter what his weight class was. This is my top 5. I've listed fast fighters who were great and guys who weren't great. Just fast hands. I wanted to see if guys could come up with other names so we could learn.

That’s 10 hands.
I know he is but I never watched Manny even in his prime and thought "man this guy is as fast as Floyd or to a greater extent Meldrick Taylor or Roy".
Doesn't mean he doesn't have great speed.
It's like saying.. "Man, Bo Jackson was fast but he's no Bob Hayes"
I hear ya, but we just differ in opinion. I'm watching Manny and Mel right now.
Manny is fast as **** lmao...

Manny Pacquiao is fast but it's obvious that guys like Roy, Floyd , Meldrick and a few others were faster in their prime. Manny Pacquiao was fast in his flurries and had very quick punches but the former guys had out of this world speed.
Manny is fast as **** lmao...
Leonard has to be at least honorable mention. Same with Gavilan, Too Sharp Johnson and Fighting Harada.
Off the top of my head Meldrick Taylor, Leonard and Robinson, Ali and prime Camacho stand out though there’s probably 5-6 guys equally as quick maybe more.
There's a young up-and-comer that posts in the Training forum who's got some good natural speed. Note that this isn't sped up at all:

Is that really someone from here?
