First he was ducking Ortiz (even though Ortiz popped for juice). Then Wilder sought him out anyway and it was “Ortiz is going to crush this hype job”. Then Wilder knocks him clean out and it’s “Ortiz was garbage and old”. Now it’s “Fury will outbox Wilder easy”. If Wilder beats Fury (which is a VERY tough fight, Leonard was gone for years came back and took Hagler to the limit, if you’re elite you’re elite. Plus Fury is young, in shape, motivated and lineal champ) then it will be “Fury sucks he wasn’t the same or was always trash”.
So you haters might as well say it now. Never mind that Ortiz and Fury are far superior wins than Takam, Parker and Povetkin (the same juicer Wilder was going to fight IN RUSSIA, that just went life and death with The Ghost Of David Price). But you biased clowns will hate anyway because that’s all you’re good for. So start hating in this thread now get it out of your system.

Take Wilders BBC out of your stanky mouth for one moment you stanky f@g.
people were saying ortiz was old and had looked bad in his previous fights but you didn't listen. you didn't want to listen to that. yes fury was good but is he still? if fury looks bad in his previous fights i'm sure you will pretend like you didn't see those either.
its called preemptive damage control..once the fight was signed ortiz stunk....but before it was wilder was "scared" and avoiding a "real top 5 HW who is skilled and a southpaw".....

But everyone picked Wilder to beat Ortiz, so you're lying there.
Nearly everyone is picking Wilder to beat this version of Fury as well. So again, you're wrong.
Povetkin never went life and death against Price in the slightest. Price landed one left hook whilst getting dominated and then knocked out. So again, you're wrong.
All in all, a really **** post. But I expect that from Americans. Always lying, always talking rubbish and making things up in their head.
lol no. don king is so old and out of touch he had no idea what was going on. the real reason stirverne climbed so high was because he was on american tv and had a belt(undeserved) this combo can make you fly through the rankings. you literally dont have to beat anyone and you can find yourself at the top.
Well, maybe now, maybe, but we're talking about what was happening a few years ago. Charles Farrell is interesting on what King was up to with Stiverne and Molina:

also boxing is a strange sport where the less you show people the more intrigued they become by the mystery of "is this guy good???" if stirverne had fought more he would have been found out so fighting less actually worked for him. it kept the mystery alive but we found out that he was actually crap(those that saw the austin/king fights already knew). we wanted to believe so we ignored our own rankings and his previous fights. even as arreola was exposed as the bum he always was we kept pretending it was stirverne that ruined him instead of saying wait who did arreola ever beat? oh seth mitchell check!
p.s. is it any surprise wilder later fought arreola in a "title" fight.
lets break down how stirverne actually got to #3 according to tbrb.
Excellent post. A great insight into the sorry state of the ranking system and the way that it can be manipulated. Interesting to note what he did after the fight with Wilder also when assessing just how valid that ranking was.

38 is, objectively speaking, old for a professional fighter. Many will retire long before that and those that do continue inevitably face a decline in physical attributes from their prime.
Almost three years is a long time to spend out of the ring. There's evidence that many or perhaps most fighters fail to regain their former levels after similar periods out and even Ali felt he made a mistake taking only 2 tune up fights before facing Frazier and he never ballooned to 27 stone during his boxing ban.
It's not 'hating' to acknowledge these factors, it's rational. So why do you react with such hostility and seek to label anyone that raises valid questions as a hater instead of addressing them, acknowledging where they may have a point and then countering it where appropriate?
To me, threads like this don't add to positive discussion, they just perpetuate an endless exchange of insults and trolling. Just respect that others won't always share your view and make an effort to see where they're coming from?
lets break down how stirverne actually got to #3 according to tbrb.
rankings before the first arreola-stirverne fight both guys are unranked. stirverne wins and they rank him #10. that seems fair. 2 meh guys fighting so why not rank the winner. has he beaten any of their top 10 fighters? no.
then stirverne doesnt fight for a year and moves up to #5 somehow. guess lots of people lost in front of him but did he actually do anything...no. has he beaten any of their top 10 fighters yet? no.
then he beats unranked arreola again and moves up to #4. has he beaten any of their top 10 fighters yet? no.
then he doesn't fight again and moves up to #3. has he beaten any of their top 10 fighters yet? no.
he loses to wilder.
so stirverne literally beat no top 10 guys and he was able to get to #3. hell if he had stayed inactive long enough maybe he becomes #1!
Brilliant post..

I didn't say title FIGHT .
That would indicate a LONE fight wouldn't it ?
I said title FiGHTS ( defending as a title holder ).
That's not how words work. You said Wilder never faced a top ten opponent in his title fights. Stiverne was a title fight. Stiverne was #3. So you were lying. Now you're trying to move the goal posts.
Ortiz wasnt ranked when Wilder fought him by the Transnational rankings if you are supporting their rankings system .
he supports it sometimes. other times he ignores it. why should it matter what a guy is ranked when the actual fight happens?
Wilder was not the champion in Stiverne 1 ...he NEVER fought anyone in the top 10 as champion ( hence title fights )....nice try though . :bottle:
Again, you appear to not understand how words work. Here's what you wrote:
"Wilder who by that rankings site NEVER fought anyone in a top ten in title fights"
Stiverne vs Wilder 1 was a title fight. Stiverne was #3 in the world. So, you were lying.

Its made up, BS posts like this that make you despise wilders fanboys. No one with a brain cell is tipping the gypsy oaf to win. AND if you want to get the wilder hate out of the way then hide the alabama frauds resume. HIDE IT GOOD. Because one look at that document will have anyone frothing with hate. How can anyone remain wbc champ for so long fighting that list of cans!
You cant post links that support a legitimate system and then say its not legit when it doesn't fit your storyline
The poster said Ortiz was never ranked higher than Povetkin. That's a lie. He's been consistently ranked higher than Povetkin and he's ranked higher right now.
Wilder who by that rankings sight NEVER fought anyone in a top ten in title fights.:bottle:
That's a lie. Wilder fought Stiverne in a title fight when Stiverne was #3. http://www.tbrb.org/2015/10/10/13-january-2015/
He forgot the most important one ....the MISSING link ( the one showing what Ortiz was ranked when Wilder fought him )! :werd:
Not sure if you understand how words work, but I was replying to what the other poster said. That is how you have a conversation. You are replying to something nobody said, because you are a troll.
Ortiz was removed from the rankings when he failed a drug test. Ten days after losing to Wilder, new rankings were published and Ortiz was ranked #4.
Ortiz wasnt ranked when Wilder fought him by the Transnational rankings if you are supporting their rankings system .
Not sure if you can read, but the poster said "You are the bias clown if you think Ortiz was ever ranked higher than Povetkin."
Clearly there have been many times where Ortiz was ranked higher, including right now.
