I couldn't get interested in this fight even if I wanted to. Seems like all the AJ fans are talking about Wilder, Hearn is talking about Wilder, and AJ is sneak dissing Wilder and Fury. What's up with Povetkin?
I wouldn’t watch Miller-Adamek on free TV. Not going to put down a credit card for something I won’t watch and then have to jump through hoops figuring out how to deactivate it before they charge me.
If they sign some meaningful names AND put on meaningful fights, I’ll consider it.
Otherwise I’d rather spend my streaming money on Netflix. At this point based on offerings I’d get ESPN+ long before I’d try Days Inn — cheaper, more on offer, fighters I at least care about to some degree.
You do you, but besides the Oct. 6 card, you can also watch AJ-Povetkin on Sept. 22 and Saunders-Andrade on Oct. 20 during your free month trial.
You don't have to pay. You can get a free trial.
Seriously, you should try it out.

LOL. Why should I pay for such huge Matchroom USA extravaganzas as Miller-Adamek? What huge names have they signed that would make me give them my money? What other sports are they offering — darts? SMFH.
They have the WBSS tourneys as well.
That is true top level boxing. Most of the best LWWs and BWs are signed up for season 2, and theres another weight to be announced soon.
Sky always put their promotional clout into the last few weeks before the fight.
Has worked well for years.
That said, I dont expect this fight to do well for an AJ fight. Povetkin just doesnt have the profile with the casual audience. There isnt any element of danger there, even though there probably should be. Povetkin is a very good, very experienced fighter, even now. He will be training very hard for this. This could go very wrong for Joshua if he isnt careful

You seem to be against DAZN, for some reason?
It's a really great streaming service, and you should give it a chance.

It’s not a good sign that AJ’s previous stadium fights sold out in a few hours and this one hasn’t yet.
It will sell zero PPVs in the USA, of course, and the bigger indicator will be if it moves the needle at all on DaysInn as the cost will be ZERO for the free month trial. If that doesn’t entice tens of thousands of US customers to take advantage, it tells me AJ has zero cache in America.
Hearn should be turning the promotion up to max right now to generate interest in the American market. If AJ is going to be a global attraction, signing up people to see his ‘big fight’ for free in the U.S. is a major objective.

That's fine. As there should be more press around that mega showdown. But do you doubt Joshua/Povetkin will be a sellout and he will do around a million PPV buys?

Never said it wouldn't.
It's a week after Canelo/GGG, and there's a ton more press around that.

Fight is over a month out, what kind of promotion were you looking for? It will be a sellout come fight day and Joshua will draw huge ratings like always. It is natural for folks to be a bit disappointed that the Wilder fight fell through, but wait fight week and see how much support he gets.

It could possibly sell out at 90k but will it do the same revenue of a Fury/Wilder fight in Vegas?
Undoubtedly more. AJ is the second biggest draw in boxing, and both Wilder and Fury are unknowns in the States.
Do you really believe it does more than Wilder/Fury? I doubt AJ sells a million PPVs every fight in the UK. Sky PPV for some reason doesn't release numbers. Sky is on record as having May/Mac beating out Wlad/AJ as the bigget PPV ever on Sky. But people on here claim AJ sells 2 million PPVS.
Wilder/Fury could easily do 50 million. A minimum of 300k PPV views at $70 is 21 million. Add in another 17-20 million from live gate revenue in Vegas. Add another 10 million from International money and sponsorship.
Yes. I'd be surprised if Fury-Wilder did more than 200k or sold out in Vegas. It probably will do a third on the PPV in UK that Joshua-Povetkin will. Not sure how big the international money and sponsors will be.
I think Wilder-Fury will be a bit of a bust judging by your expectations and I'd imagine Joshua-Povetkin does something in line with his last two fights.

It's a **** fight. I don't even know what date it's on or if I'll watch it even but I can guarantee it does better than Wilder and Fury's next fights.

AJ is a 20 to 1 favorite. May be part of why there is so little hype for the fight. Very few believe Povetkin has any chance to win.
AJ is only a 2 to 1 favorite against Wilder. May be part of why people are so much more interested in discussing Wilder.
AJ is very popular without all the fake drama they are creating to make a big seller out of Wilder vs Fury. His fight with Povetkin will be a money making success just because it's AJ vs a respected dangerous challenger. It doesn't need a phony buildup. It's a good legit title fight that sells it's self. AJ vs Fury is also a good fight that should sell it's self but Wilder only has a small fraction of the popularity AJ has in the UK.
It will do fine but Wilder Fury has already surpassed it in hype. AJ sells out stadiums to fight the biggest bums he can find, an opponent like Povetkin will sell out..
