What did Vanes have to gain by saying Golovkin hit him harder then heavyweights he's sparred?
... To try and explain why, after talking all that ****, he got dealt with in 2 rounds.
If you're preparation is as good as you say it is, and you run into a fighter who hits harder than heavyweights you've known, lasting two rounds could even be an accomplishment, lol.
Same reason why every time Amir Khan talks about the Canelo fight, Canelo keeps on getting bigger and bigger; anyone watching the fight will give Khan credit for how he fought the first three rounds of that fight. Taking on a guy who now becomes a hulking 200lb monster, every fighter near Khan's size would've been put out by that shot.
The performance becomes less special when you're actually talking about a welterweight taking on a junior middleweight, who were likely within 10lbs of each other on fight night. And Vanes looks like a punk for getting his **** pushed in in 2 rounds, by a regular hitting middleweight fighter.
Darnell Boone has fought both Ward and Kovalev and been a sparring partner of GGG. He said GGG would beat them both because of his punching power, hard training and good use of his skill in the ring. He said Ward was the better boxer but GGG's superior punching power would give him the win. He didn't say GGG hit harder than Kovalev but he did say GGG beats both Ward and Kovalev and he was sure about it. Source. Los Angeles Times.
Wish I could rep you thanks for the insight I think GGG would get outclassed on points by Ward. I Believe he would KO Krusher as quick or quicker than Alvarez
Who wins? I don't see anything Sergey has on GGG aside from 2 inches of height.Darnell Boone has fought both Ward and Kovalev and been a sparring partner of GGG. I've wanted this matchup for 3 years. Golovkin knocks him out cold within 8. Golovkin could actually make a run at HW too with his power.
Heavyweight????? Please stop.......
No catchweight is needed. GGG would knock him out at 175 in my opinion. He is a better, tougher, gamer fighter and he always has been.
This is what would happen imo. GGG would either take him out with a liver shot or decapitate him.
the whole abel "golovkin beats anyone at 175" thing he ran with before ward/kova 2 was funny
lil g couldn't even handle someone like joe smith at 175
I wonder if the whole 160 to 175 all started after GGG showed in sparring he's the better fighter? At that time Kovalev was unified 175 boogeyman

You are still calling him lil g and that brands you as a Ward lover and a GGG hater and makes your opinion on how he would do in any fight extremely bias and worthless.

If making the weight doesn't ruin Kovalev, Golovkin has already shown that he's not so that vaunted a puncher at the top of 160lbs, nevermind in a fight with a light heavyweight who can take a good shot.
With Golovkin not having his power register, Kovalev is looking at a smaller fighter, who is only really comfortable fighting coming straight at you, without any extra quirks to figure out, who Kovalev will likely outsize by 15lbs on fight night.
Why just GGG??? Golovkin, Canelo and Jacobs would all have a shot of beating the Kovalev that fought Alverez. Kovalev can't make 170 anyway and he'd be crazy to try.
I just want opinions on theese two going at it. I think Golovkin Mauls him.

I doubt Kovalev can make 170 and be healthy
ya
plus I wanna wait and see if golovkin can handle a jr mw champion in decisive fashion first before I go make judgments on how he would fare at 170
