Name them so we can stop overrating him right now. Hes a good fighter, but hes not beating the top guys at 147. Fringe contenders maybe. But he will struggle with the harder hitting guys no question.
So list his five best wins so we can see why hes prepared for welterweight.
Lomachenko lost embarrassingly to "Fringe Contender" Salido
The only things embarrassing about that fight were Laurence Cole's performance as referee and Salido's failure to make weight.
Salido punched him in the balls all night long, out-weighed him by 12 pounds on fight night, got hurt pretty bad in the 12th round, and only managed to earn a split decision? I guess that's what is considered a "schooling" these days.
That portion of your post is embarrassing.
Garcia is moving weight class to weight class man and wants the best..How can anyone hate him?
Wheres the hate? His five best wins aren’t extraordinary. But people are calling him “special” “ Roberto Duran”.
As I said, hes a good fighter but the overrating is getting silly. Pointing out a truth isn’t hate.
i dont think theres many/any fighters out there who'd have a great top 5.
Bingo. You could pick apart most of the resumes' of the top guys. I mean do one for Crawford and you can say it isn't that great. Do one for Inoue you will say the same. Now, if he beats Spence? Obviously it makes it look much better.
Just to be an a$$h0le,
Mikey's top five- Loma's top five-
Orlando Salido Jorge Linares
Robert Easter, Jr Guillermo Rigondeaux
Adrien Broner Nicolas Walters
Sergey Lippinets Gary Russell, Jr.
Roman Martinez Roman Martinez
Usyk's top five- Spence's top five-
Murat Gassiev Kell Brook
Mairis Breidis Lamont Peterson
Marco Huck Carlos Ocampo
Krzysztof Glowacki Leonard Bundu
Michael Hunter Chris Algieri
Terence Crawford's top five- GGG's top five-
Yuriorkis Gamboa Danny Jacobs
Viktor Postol David Lemiuex
Julius Indongo Kell Brook
Jeff Horn Martin Murray
Ricky Burns Willie Monroe, Jr.
Personally, I think Usyk's got them all beat...
:boxing:
Loma edges him.
Oddly Mikey would be the biggest win at 147 for any of those champs not named Pacquiao.
I dont see it. Thurman is a bigger win than Mikey. Spence is a bigger win. Even Danny and Porter are bigger wins than a guy who has never fought at 147.

Mikey is outsized even at 140. It’s a retarded pipe dream.
A smalll, soft looking 140 pounder (the two times he fought there) is suddenly going to be okay against a big 147 pounder? Coming from 135? By December? Lmao. Not even the juice is good enough to make his body grow like that in such a short time.
I think Mikey is more skilled if I’m being honest.... but there comes a time when just skill won’t beat skill, BIG size advantage, and a huge strength advantage.
If they were the same size, Mikey is the favorite. But they’re no where near in size.
Loma wants to seemingly fight everyone but Mikey next. Everyone wants to fight everyone but Spence..so...
Dear god he’s making a bad decision. Hopefully it’s just a ploy and theyre both in on it like they’re going to fight and promote each other to build towards a very possible huge fight in the future.
If Mikey beats Loma (which seems like he could) and Spence gets through the gauntlet at 47 (which he very well could) then it’s a huge fight and at least Mikey would get a fat paycheck.
I just don’t think It makes sense for anyone. Spence would get so much s hit for fighting a 35er.
“Why not fight a 54 pounder? Same size. Big man picking on a 35er.”
Not much to disagree with here, if anything at all. I think 140 is his limit. 147 is dangerous for him. While him saying he wants the top dog at 47 is admirable, I just have to think its a marketing job until Im proven wrong.
I won't believe it until he signs to fight. Mikey has a history of calling for certain fights and then being the one who walks away. It's hard to take him seriously in that regard. I think he's just saying what he thinks fans want to hear.
Adrien Broner
Rocky Martinez
Orlando Salido
Robert Easter
Sergey Lipinets
He really doesn't have that many good wins. He hasn't really beaten anybody in a match that people clamored for but he's undefeated record, skill set, dominance and list of solid opponents is hard to completely dismiss. I think every other p4p entrant has at least one or two wins better than Mikey's best, a number of them have 3, 4 or even 5 wins that are better.

and your favorite fighter is????
2 fights at 140? Yeah sounds good to me.
Those 5 fighters bring a different plethora of styles, Midrange, Long range, Swarming, Mikey has seen it all. And has hurt everyone on this list.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see him against Spence because nobody was asking for this fight and it doesn't answer any questions that we have right now.
Two fights against who though? Every boxer has faced a plethora of different styles. Or have the welters only been in against one type?
1. Salido
2. Easter
3. Lipinets
4. Broner
5. Juanma?

Not sure what a guy in his second pro fight has to do with this, but do you feel that resume has prepared Garcia for welterweight?
