Remember when AJ said he may be ready for Wilder in like 2020? Well, his negotiations with Wilder's team crumbled. Wilder said that AJ's team sent him blank contracts, and AJ said that Wilder missed deadlines. In an interview, AJ even said that the fans should train and fight Wilder instead. Now, Wilder's talking about a 50/50 split, while Hearn is staying with the flat fee. Both sides are looking kinda sus, but Joshua's more so in my opinion.
Maybe all this BS right now is a scam and the fight has already been agreed hence why he's booked Wembley already. Or maybe Hearn is simply gonna wait Wilder out til he accepts the fight on his terms.
Fact is Joshua has options, come April 2019 he could fight Wilder, but he could fight Whyte if he beats Parker. He could fight Miller or anyone else and sell 1 mill plus PPV's.
Personally if he doesn't fight Wilder, I'd like Joshua to fight Ortiz after Povetkin. Would be a good fight, could easily be sold to casuals, if Joshua can't get Wilder he'll get the guy that almost beat him.
Both parties benefit from a deal.
One party has much better options than the other if no deal takes place and their risk reduces if it's delayed.
The other party benefits more pro rata to their current income if the deal happens, has much less attractive alternative options and the longer the delay the greater their risk of an optimum outcome.
So the other party has to compromise and make the deal so attractive that the first party forgoes those options. They need to compromise in order to make the deal happen. That's business.
All AJ had to do was agree to 50 million and the fight would actually be next.
If Wilder had signed the blank contract, the fight still wouldn't have been next.
Lmmfao lol... Get the strap!
It's always been in Wilder's hands. All he had to do was to sign the contract.
All AJ had to do was agree to 50 million and the fight would actually be next.
If Wilder had signed the blank contract, the fight still wouldn't have been next.
No idea, none of us are behind negotiation tables so we have nothing to go by than what each side puts in the media, and even then how do we know what to believe?
