Jamie Munguia vs Liam Smith... Smith is a whopping +720 underdog.
Alberto Machado vs Rafael Mensah... Mensah is a whooping +950 underdog.
Anyone think the underdogs have a plausible chance of being victorious here? Anyone willing to put money on them?
I am sure Munguia will win but Smith does have a chance to win. Smith is a high quality fighter and good at everything. He is just up against a monster but he is by far the best fighter Munguia has ever fought. I think the odds are correct. Smith has a chance to win but it's a very small one. In other words do not bet money on Smith.
I only know the first two boxers. I think Smith is a very good fighter but I think Munguia is a fighting ace and knocks Smith out. I would pick Munguia to beat anyone at 154. I have only seen Munguia fight once but that was enough to make me believe in him.
If I could get those odds I'd take both underdogs. Unfortunately the U.K bookmakers don't see it that wide, not even close.
Have you seen Mensah fight, before? Is he any good?
I think Smith has a chance, he's a good body puncher and tough as nails. I think it could be a gruelling fight but Smith has the tighter defence and could do a lot of damage to Manguia counter punching.
It's one of those ones where the longer the fight goes the more I favour Smith, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets ko'd either....
This ^. I think Smith is a very live dog here, despite his fairly lacklustre performances against Williams people neglect that he held his own for much of the fight against Canelo (who looked like a goddamn tank in there) and also that spanking Sadam Ali doesn't necessarily elevate a fighter to elite status. I'm still picking Jaime for the win, but I'll be very surprised if this turns out to be the walkthrough that some seem to be expecting.
'Sweet Pea' Mensah? Who he? A big fish in Accra, Ghana for sure, but on the world stage? Well, I wouldn't be putting any money down, but who knows?

I just don't see how Smith's going to deal with Munguia's size. Munguia looked like the Hulk fighting a toddler against Sadam Ali, and while Smith is a more natural LMW than Ali was he's not exactly huge at the weight either. At least in regards to that fight I don't think I can argue with the odds all that much.
