I want to preface this by saying Manny beat a washed up guy tonight but washed up at Manny's level if that makes sense.
I had a blast watching the old man tonight. Pac is by my count one of the best offensive fighters I have ever seen. Absolute joy to watch when he is on like tonight. Its a shame most you fckrs have
separated yourselves off into pro Pac or against. You wont see another like him for a long time if ever. I was smiling the entire time watching him tonight, you are a fool if you have let some petty **** keep you from enjoying watching a man of his talent destroy a very good and dangerous fighter like he did tonight.
A lot of you wont believe this but you will miss him when he is gone. I had some serious hate for Lennox Lewis back in the day. I was stupid not to recognize what he was doing and appreciate it as it was happening.

Son is still veryyyy good. He's still elite. We will miss him. He's an all time "exciting" great.
He can show flashes of greatness. But in order to catapult him back to where he once was (CURRENT status wise - he has been solidified as a hall of famer for a decade already) he will need to beat the likes of a thurman/garcia
Great post. As a fellow Lennox Lewis hater, I understand where you're coming from.
Man I use to root against him who ever he fought and the only reason I can give is he came off as a fake mfer in interviews. Ive come to appreciate him for the ATG he is in the years since.
Love him or hate him, pac is an atg. For 4.99 of entertainment this card was awesome! A successful first time international promotion not involving top rank.
I agree. Putting aside my hate for retarded Pac - tards, Pacquaio is an all time great. The guy is high octane drama through and through and I love that about him. He comes to fight, he comes to entertain, what more do we want?
The only knock I have for tonight is that it was against a really nice guy in Matthysse who by extension was so so bad, so far shot that I'd have preferred to have seen this Manny in with someone else instead, a Broner type of fighter
I have to agree, but Arum had intention on putting him with worse.. Mike Alvarado lol

I will also second that saying by tonight's win; He has all kinds of opportunities and options available to him now. Especially since winning a major world title and also by making two of the smartest business moves of his career; Firing Freddie Roach and Bob Arum.

Great post. He may be a shell of his former self, and Lucas is certainly not world class, but it was a good win at 39 and in his 69th fight.
It was an excellent win for public relation and to get him back into the media, they can make good dollars by matching him very careful as there is still a bit left in Manny yet.
I liked watching him work in there....but seriously to hear the announcers talk, idk who would beat him worse if he ever comes back to America. The top 147 or uncle sam for those taxes he owes
uncle sam is going to retire manny for good
I agree about stepping on US soil, If he can still fight like this he can still beat the hell out of alot of the WW out there. Im not talking the Spence's or Crawford's of the world but he can defend against the bottom half of the top ten and make bank and the WBA will let him.
certainly interested in Manny vs Broner
It was good seeing him turn it on again. Even if it was against Lucas.
Manny should retire and never step foot on US soil again if he knows whats good for him

What true boxing fan didn't appreciate Pacquiao in his prime??Even the Floyd fanboys can agree Pacquiao was one of the most incredible offensive talents ever seen in boxing.
You do understand the class difference in tonight's fight don't you, I was surprised it went as long as it did after the first round I expected Manny to stop him in 2-3 or 4.
The main I expected, the prelims were great fights it was quality boxing all night I enjoyed the whole card.
