I can see him getting in mainly due to his drawing power in the sport. Whenever he fights he always has high viewership numbers & is probably one of the top 5 most known fighters in boxing currently. His career in general is pretty average due to not beating any top names but he’s definitely a draw in terms of when he fights. Do you think that would be enough for him to go in even if he never beats any top names?
lol well I figured this thread would get a mixed reaction but I feel it’s a legitimate question due to Broner bringing in a lot of viewers to watching boxing as well as being a 4 division champion. I think if he happened to beat Maidana & Porter than more people would say yes, but right now it’s debatable.
Seriously if Broner get's in the HOF then that is officially the end of the HOF.
There are some very questionable inductees but that will truly take the cake.
If he even makes the ballot it would be a joke.
man, stop with this garbage. gatti was an exception, most likely that won't happen again. stallone is deserving, the rocky movies are iconic and contributed alot to boxing.
broner ain't no where near a hall of famer. making a 4 division champ, how much does that mean considering the only name on his resume witrth mentioning is malignaggi. vargas, forrest, benn, eubanks, hell even zab deserves a nod to the hall before broner.
:firedevil

Not a chance.
Guys like Broner and Santa Cruz will automatically get in just by being 3 and 4 weight world Champs.
The average human doesn't realize how hard it is to get 1 world championship belt let alone 3 or 4 in different weight classes.
no they will not!
history will recognize the diluted nature of the sport in our era created by the 4 belt system and promoters gerrymandering stables into leagues.
broner and santa cruz would need to do much, much more to get into the hall of fame!
It shouldnt be but didnt Stallone get in for playing a fighter?
It seems Hall of Fame is about popularity in some cases making Broner more than eligible.
you guys really aren't fit for talking about the boxing hall of fame, and that's fine. there are two major categories. boxers and nonparticipants. stallone got in as a screenwriter, his movie / character rocky did so much for the sport. he is a nonparticipant.
adrien broner is not more than eligible. he will not get into the hall of fame. if he retired tomorrow he wouldn't even be on the ballot.
most boxers in the hall of fame are there for their skills, accomplishments, and yes, it's the hall of "fame," and a connection with the fans and writers who vote matters.
No.
People are on the fence about letting in the likes of Judah, **** they're on the fence about letting imln Bradley.
Broner's career is thin as the paper belts he has collected. Castrated by Marcos, mauled by Shawn, and schooled by Mikey. His best win was a struggle against a faded Malignaggi.
Gatti gave us memories.. Broner gave us what? I can't remember a fight. I'd want to watch again of his. Maybe getting beat up by Marcos. Other than that he's just a classless, thuggish human being..
If its about boxing He gets in, 4 div champ. Gatti did what? boxing wise? He showed he can keep getting punched in the face....no disrespect, but his most famous fight (gatti) was getting embarrassed severely by TBE ( and got ko'd) :boxing:Broner probably will get in. Gatti was a very popular boxer and probably didn't deserve to get in on fighting ability. Broner is a 4 weight champ so that will probably be enough. Was Broner ever the best fighter in the world in any of those 4 weight classes? I don't think so. Has Broner ever been thought of as a top 10 or even a top 20 pound for pound boxer? I don't think so. It seems like for a boxer to be hall of fame worthy he should have at least been a top 10 pfp guy for a little while. But maybe that is not longer a requirement.
He shouldn't. Drawing power should have nothing to do with it. It should be about accomplishments in the ring. If he gets in then Vargas, Porter and Maidana should get in as well. However things aren't always fair and he may get in because of the hype he always seems to get.He is famous even if he isn't very good. Everyone knows who he is.
