He'd be a bigger star over here than AJ is
David Price was a massive star until his career derailed.
Wilder would be huge here with his reel of KO's
With how David Price's career went down the pan after his losses its easy to see why they're keeping AJ safe to avoid the same fate
Once these huge heavyweights get knocked out their mystique is gone. Each opponent there after is in with a shout & goes for it.
For the guy like Price, each fight he's in now is a full on battle...even facing weaker opponents than he was steamrolling before. The opponents smell blood & know theyre not indestructible
Once AJ has 2 defeats he's done. Hearn knows this
In terms of talent, i agree.
My point was basically if you had an American heavyweight fighter (not specifically Wilder) that was 40-0 with 39 knockouts, WBC Champ etc etc. in the 90s, he would've been a star.
Different times right now.
I agree with that.
Wilder and Joshua would be obscure footnotes in history had they fought in the nineties. They are both fortunate to be in the era they era they are in.

Haha "massive star" is an exaggeration.
He wasn't. He could sell tickets in Liverpool and people had high hopes for him as the first decent British HW for a while, that's about it, mostly due to winning a medal in Beijing. Boxing was nowhere near as popular when Price turned pro as it is these days.
You're right though. Wilder would be a much bigger star here in the UK in the current climate.
I think it says more about the interest in boxing in USA as a whole right now. Back in the 90's, Wilder would've been a star in USA. Casual fans don't care about opposition, as we see in the UK when AJ can fill stadiums v Takam. A big HW like Wilder that looks the part, knocking guys out for fun, WBC champ of the World would have been a huge star back then, regardless of who he fought.
Boxing goes through ups and downs in terms of popularity. It always has done. A time will come again when boxing is thriving in USA in terms of popularity and a time when the interest in the UK is waning.

9]You mean like getting a hw title shot after beating these elite fighters ?
Ksicek, Bahktov, Gavern, Sprott, Cornish, Hector Avila & Dillian Shyte
🙄
Lol .. you obviously only boarded the Wilder hype-train at the last stop!
For your info .. if your name is Deontay Wilder, then yes, beating Gavern definitely does get you a title shot.
Wilder fought Gavern in his 32nd fight - immediately before winning the WBC title from another 3 rate journeyman in Stiffern.
AJ beat Gavern in his 11th fight, and yes, he also beat Dillian Whyte, who Wilder turned down a career high purse offer for.
How about Firtha, scott, liakhovich, Price, Gavern & Harrison
Whyte had done what prior to the AJ fight?
They are all worse than the bodysnatcher. I know you are joking when you have thrown Audley in there!
Whyte hadn't done much before AJ but since has at least proved he is a top ten heavyweight.
So with Whyte who is considerably better the conclusion is AJ had fought better opposition before a world title fight. However with Wilder having twice as many fights that is extremely embarrassing for Wilder.
thrre is no way a man like wilder would be british.
Although to be fair, there are Brits who sound American form some wierd reason, but few real Americans that sound British.
They are world beaters compared to what Wilder had faced in many more fights. Name an opponent on Whytes level that Wilder fought before he got a world title shot....

If Wilder was British he would never have got a world title shot for beating cans and would probably have 4 or 5 defeats to other UK HWs on his record by now.
On the plus side, he would have had a much better education and wouldn't come across as border line retarded in his interviews.
