Anyone else think that was Matchroom trying to put the date in themselves? After a Povetkin fight..
No way that was sent in error & doubt there's any mention or guarantee in the contract that Wilder would be Joshua's next opponent
Now this tells us who really doesn't want the fight. They wanted Wilder to sign a post dated contract with no venue or date. Now who is ducking who? It's very clearly to see that Matchroom boxing is deliberately stalling and delaying this fight.
As for the point about wba not wanting to lose their belt holder. Exactly, all the chatter about them putting the pressure is coming from fatboy hearns mouth
Looks like it was indeed consistent pressure from Mendoza and not just a bit of chatter from fatboy Hearn.
I think ordering the mandatory at this late stage of wilder negotiations is ludicrous though.
How can a date and venue be scheduled when they still have to see whether they want Wembley or Cardiff and see what dates are available within those months? It isn't difficult.
Hearn said already they can't do Wembley for that time of year.
Queue'd up at the appropriate time.
Hearn's statement in that interview implied this. He couldn't have attached a date or venue to any contract he sent when he doesn't know when or where it'll take place. Shady stuff imo. Very shady.

Finkel never gave a precise date or venue in his offer either so why is it one rule.for one and one rule for another?
The fight will be in Oct / Nov.. those provisions will be in the contract or Finkel wouldn't have bothered signing and saying Hearn will have it Friday.
As for the poster claiming about WBA / WBO.. the WBO won't say anything as their mandatory isn't even due. They'll just sanction it and if povetkin loses on his WBA shot he won't be their mandatory when it's called. The WBA have been seeking clarity on what's going on all the way throughout this negotiation as they won't allow an exorbitant amount of time for Hearn to get it done and seek exemption as it would open them up to **** from ryabinsky.
They don't want another scenario where they're legally obliged to honour title shots and possibly lose money and a better face for their belt.
Jesus Christ.. why is it so difficult to take everything into account before posting or is it just preference to slag off anyone not on your chosen fighters side?
There is a big difference between an offer and a contract. With an offer you can discuss things later, with a contract everything has to be on paper

Well, Hearn DID say he NEVER sends an offer without a contract and that the date and venue had to be in it. Then he does just the opposite.
I think Finkel wants assurance that the Wilder fight is NEXT and not somewhere after another fight. If AJ is taking Povetkin next, Wilder shouldn’t sign a contract unti that is settled.

Taking everything into account;
The contract should state that the event is due to take place in Oct november in either listed venue. Being omitted is a deliberate act & legally the 2 are completely different
Why's that hard to understand?
This was a contract that spent days with Hearns lawyer..no mention of date or venue in the contract?
Finkel wasn't manoeuvring another fight into place when he made the offer. Thats the difference. Why's that so difficult to take into account?
Finkel has saidthey need the contract revised/redrawn & providing everything checks out itll be signed by friday. Now hearn has to act, we've seen how he acted with the first contract. Its worth taking into account
Ryabinski isn't breathing down anyones back. He has a good relationship with Hearn & its more to do with what Hearn is trying to angle

Sh.its a joke
Actually let me clarify Hearns a f.ucking joke
I assume the fight doesn’t happen next which is what I expected
But honestly how does Hearn think his lies and actions doesn’t hurt himself trying to break into the American market among the fighters he’s trying to sign and fans that pay attention to the sport and how does AJ and Hearn think that making AJ and his team look like b.itches is a good formula if he ever wants to try and break into the States l. How can any boxing fan on this side of the pond get behind this f.aggotry
I don’t get it
Finkel said he had two questions about the contract and they had to with the venue/date not being listed. So basically Hearn would get to pick. Interesting stuff, curious to see if that is how he usually does business or just for this fight.
He is now saying there is a lot of pressure to fight Povetkin next. Foh, you make the Wilder fight and the WBA or WBO will not say a damn thing. Hearn doesn't like having all his bluffs called. This isn't what he was expecting.
