Because the fact he didn't makes people think that is how he has conducted his whole career. Basically cherry picking to the end.
Look at David haye last fight. That's how it should be. Floyd went out on his terms? But that's his problem everything he did in his career was under his terms.
I m polite but first post in thread was rhetorical question of course floyd should have fought spence, thurman or whoever was best. Floyd was supposedly the best so had to pass torch, changing of guard. That's how it's done there is no exception to this rule.
Floyd fans might not want to hear this but the alternative is being considered a cherry picker right to the end. It's no surprise floyd avoiding toughest test available at end of career because he avoided toughest test throughout majority of career. That's what people will conclude. It would be better for his legacy to have beat spence or thurman to show he was still the best in retirement and that he took toughest tests if possible

Aren’t you the poster that made a list of fighters Floyd needed to beat to be an ATG, deleted the post with the list once Floyd did in fact defeat all of the boxers on the list, and refused to give credit to Floyd. Yes you are.
So Floyd did what he needed to do. Maybe what guys like you needed to do was just give him credit for doing what you asked him to do. It’s ok if you don’t like him, but don’t lie and do things like delete posts.
Means you have no credibility and anything you say is invalid.
I'll say he should of fought a better opponent as his last fight. But going out on his shield!? :lol1: and then you use Haye as a reference when he was fighting Bellew, a guy that accomplished nothing at heavyweight :lol1:
He fought and defeated an awful lot of boxers who were world champions when he fought them. It's hard to think of a modern boxer who beat more champions when they were champions. He had some cherry picks but so did just about all famous champions.
But haye never claimed to be the best, or wasn't defending reputation for being the best.
Floyd was supposedly the best. So why not fight spencer, brook etc etc?
It's better for his legacy to not have cherry pick fights to end career as that stays in memory..Ok, he cherry picked for the majority of his career in countless critics opinions. But floyd could have made statement in last fight.
So why have you used it as an example then, idiot?
And for the record David Haye has called himself the best.
As should any elite boxer.

Floyd fought and dominated Pacquiao in 2015 who cares if he wanted to fight berto as a retirement fight. :lol1:
I want you to name examples when Floyd actually cherry picked opponents. :usa:
Floyd was always better than he showed in the ring, he stopped taking risks in fights once he hit the DLH jackpot. Perfectly and brutally honest, fight fans like drama which rarely happened in the latter stages of his career with the exception of the one round vs Mosley. I mean Floyds last 7 years in the sport are virtually the same highlights, jab jab, hook, pot shot. I'm sure he's plenty satisfied but the other argument from the consumers has it's own validity as well. Go out on his shield? No, beat the dog sh*t out of overmatched opponents? Absolutely.
Floyd stayed true to his character to the end. 49 was Berto cause he deserved an "easy fight" and 50 was a guy making his pro debut, cause the bottom line is the bottom line.
Floyd confirmed his legacy as the most financially successful fighter ever, as for TBE, not so much.
Floyd has indelibly ruined this guy's life. It kills him that Floyd schooled his idol after telling everyone that Floyd would never fight Pac.
Not to mention his legendary post where he specified that Floyd had to beat Mosley, Pac and Cotto to be considered an ATG. Floyd went on to do just that and this fool spluttered and stuttered and eventually deleted that post, even though people had quoted it.
:lol1: :lol1:
People just will find it interesting how floyd closed out his career and will conclude that's how floyd conducted his whole career. He did nothing towards the very end that he didn't do throughout his career.
That's just how floyd operated
Everyone that took those "calculated risks" LOST....LOL....so I guess this is how you guys TRY to discredit this man that accomplished more than anyone in the history of the sport? LOL....You guys kept on for 20 years & kept failing....LOL....It's called insanity.
calm down...not everyone who doesn't s*uck his dick is a Floyd hater. his career trajectory lined up with a lot of very good/great fighters, but he fought nearly none in their primes...is what it is. I'm not blaming Floyd for that, but it's the only thing he lacks compared to some other atg fighters. think about how many critics would be silenced if he had fought and beat pac in 2010.
it was a pathetic way to end a great career. fighting someone who was 0-0 with no boxing experience, farcical
Must suck to be wrong for 20 years....LMMFAO!
:yeah:
Money was more important than legacy, so for Floyd, he made the move that coincided with his values. Trouble is, he insisted on labeling himself TBE, and his fan base sang along.
The money came from winning & he was fighting fighters on win streaks. Floyd would of beat the snot out of Dempsey too. Conor can beat Dempsey....LMMFAO!
:yeah:
well it's not like he's still hanging around calling himself tbe but not fighting the best opposition. he's a guy who always took calculated risks...why would anyone expect him to be different at the end of his career. he knew he was slipping in his last couple fights, which is why he chose to fight andre berto and call it a day. can't be on top forever.
