Any Brits know the story? I thought something may happen after Tyson was seen partying with Parker after he beat Hughie. I’m sure there is more to it but that couldn’t have sat well with Hughie or Peter...
since I'm not British, what's Fury's beef with Haye?
David Haye was contracted to fight Fury and then pulled out. The fight was rescheduled, months later...only for Haye to pull out a second time. Fury had gone into camp twice, with all the expenses, for no result. It meant he was out, for more than a year, through no fault of his own.
One of the first things he said, after becoming champion was that he would never give David Haye a payday. He was bitter about what Haye had done to him and how convenient Haye's "injuries" in training had occurred.
When he subsequently discovered that his Uncle and cousin had shown up to Haye's gym, in London, he went on a rant and called the "sin" unforgivable. So, when he returned to boxing, after such a long lay-off, it wasn't surprising to see him turn his back on his previous team. Poor old Hughie, who's done nothing wrong, has been left no longer on speaking terms with his cousin Tyson - but now has the chance to be the number one fighter in his dad's stable.
Also, following the win in Germany, it was pretty clear that Fury lacked motivation and ambition, having, in his words, achieved all he had ever set out to do in boxing. Come the rematch, his head wasn't in the game. He explained it to SKY Sports, thus: https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/10287256/tyson-fury-says-fall-out-with-trainer-peter-proves-he-lacks-motivation
Not sure if it's been said already, but there was also a lot of differing opinion between the two branches of the family. Peter Fury is a respectful man and he doesn't want to be in the spotlight. With Tyson it reached a point it was more of a circus act than anything. When Tyson is going on IFL TV and smack talking a lot of powerful people in the industry, Peter has built working relationships with some of these people, and experienced something akin to being blacklisted when Tyson got thrown under the bus. I think Peter and Hughie Fury seem revitalized being out of that spotlight and being able to work on their crafts at their own pace. They just simply grew apart. Peter is his own man with his own ambitions.
It's purely because Peter is only interested in people that want to achieve in boxing, he doesn't do it for money.... Tyson didn't want to box, so he is out of his mind in a boxing sense.
When Tyson came back it was Ben and BJS that got him to start training, made boxing fun again, whereas it wasn't fun under Peter any more.
I don't think there's hard feelings there, it's just Peter is only interested in his fighters, and doesn't want to talk about Tyson all the time.
Fury hates Haye because those pull outs left Fury with financial problems. When Fury won the titles, he said he'd rather vacate than ever give Haye a shot after Haye's 2 pullouts.
Certainly not tongue in cheek.
yeah I get that but still. He's said a lot of stuff afterwards that suggest otherwise
Twice and this was before Fury had ever made big money.
He claimed in a few interviews that Haye's pullouts left him with a lot of financial problems. The first pull out was a week before the fight.
then I'd be furious too if I was Tyson. You think you have a big fight lined up with a big name, and you end up having to fight John McDermitts fat ass a second time.
He's done what a lot of boxers before him have done & hopefully its not his downfall
Looks like he's surrounding himself with yes men & ex fighters keen on the limelight.
He's got hatton on board now, hatton doesnt have the commitment to his fighters. He messed murray & brown around thrn dropped them both. He looks like he still parties too...not what fury needs
Dont think fury would have got away with performing like that under Peter & its a worry as he needs to get his act together
The Haye thing seemed to me like it was tongue in cheek. I really can't believe that's it.

damn, I didn't even know they were scheduled to fight....

Wonder how the caravan smelt after those two going at it for a good hour. Cottage cheese and farts everywhere.
Come on man that's not right, some of us are eating and drinking while browsing this site. Put me right off
Haye pulled out of a couple of fight dates with Fury claiming injuries. Fury didnt believe he was injured, wasting his time

His uncle suggested he quit boxing and join the carnival. Alas, this did not sit well with Tyson. He feels his life has greater purpose than headlining "The Big Goofy Fucker" exhibit.
Holy shyt is that really what happened? I could imagine that, poor fat Fury.
As people said the Haye stuff, plus Tyson doesn't like being told what to do and Peter was on his back a lot of the time. Tyson also said Parker won the fight against Hughie and went partying with Parker after the fight

I have much more belief that Tyson's unprofessional attitude was rubbing Peter the wrong way. Peter runs the gym like a military general, and I don't think Tyson felt that was for him.
To be fair when you're a 6ft9 fat giant and ****ing your 6ft4 uncle in a tiny caravan it can get old pretty fast
Gypsy men are conceived, born, and naturally de-flowered in mini Van's.
