GGG doesn't care about unifying belts, he always wanted that Floyd or Canelo payday. What belt does Canelo even hold? He held WBC and just recently lost the lineal, unofficially. You're ignoring 5 years of factual history to push your opinion.
Why is GGG chasing Canelo so much when he isn't even a champ? If he really wanted all the belts he would have been chasing Saunders instead of Canelo BJS has made zero efforts to make this fight get done, going back to the "I need 18 months for Golovkin" comment in 2015.
BJS won the WBO, got fat, barely scraped by Akavov, realized he needs to take this sh1t seriously or he's toast. The first time he looked like a good fighter was against Lemieux recently. Nobody in their right mind will claim that the complacent out of shape BJS wanted any piece of Golovkin.
The belts mattered so much but was quick to say he'd go to 154 to fight Floyd or up to 168 for Chavez Jr.
Nobody with a belt wanted to fight him, so he did the next best thing and called out big names. That's what every fighter always does. Charlo called out Golovkin and then said he'd love to face Canelo. Munguia said his dream fight is Canelo.
It's literally the same for every boxer going back 100 years in history.
GGG had an easy choice, they knew in advance that Canelo failed the test. They knew the IBF gave them an exemption to face Canelo and had to face the mandatory after him. Negotiate a fight with the mandatory as a backup in case the fight gets cancelled.LOL what? It's Golovkin's fault for Canelo failing the test? Are you out of your damn mind? He wanted until early April for the hearing just like the rest of us.
And no, you don't negotiate a 'backup'. It's a business world. Either you're in or you're out. When a fighter pulls out either due to injury or due to PED bust, everyone scrambles looking for an opponent. Joshua did, Wilder did, even Martin Murray is scrambling now.
Again, no different than every boxer before and after him.
Move the fight date in order to satisfy his mandatory. Instead they waited to the last minute, took on Vanes instead Of Dev and were reluctant to change dates, especially after moving venues and losing revenue due to the fact that they scheduled a fight a day after Golden Boy had one in the same venue.
uh.. this is 100% wrong. Once a fighter has a date, you fight on that date. This applies to virtually everyone. You make commitments to a date, from the fighters' training schedules, to TV rights. 90-95% of the fights don't move dates for this reason.
He was in camp for 10 weeks before May. His choice was to either waste the camp or fight on May 5th. He also likes to fight in September, moving the fight date would disrupt that schedule. Why do you think his salary against Maritrosyan was so low? HBO had him by the balls and only offered $2M for the whole card. That was his lowest salary in 4 years.
Long story short, if you replace the name "Golovkin" in your post with a fighter you like, you'll realize how ridiculous your claims are.
Some of you have been whiny little b1tches about anything Golovkin related.
For the last 5 years, virtually everything Golovkin has done was to try to unify all the belts. From chasing Sturm, to Martinez, to Cotto, to Canelo, to calling out Lee and BJS. For the past 5 years the message of these little whiny morons has been "who cares about belts unification means nothing you should move up".
And now you're celebrating that you think he got 'outmaneuvered' by a guy who got busted for PEDs 2 months ago? Take a fukin shot of whiskey and get some self respect.

Hell yes if he doesn't fight Canelo or Jermall next they will strip him and you will celebrate. It doesn't matter who strips him. The GGG haters will always hate him no matter how many belts he has or doesn't have. Fans that don't hate him will continue to recognize GGG as the real middleweight champion until another middleweight beats him in the ring or he retires. There are just too many alphabet organizations making too many demands on him for him to make them all happy. He only has a short time left before he is too old to beat the best, He needs to go for the big money fights like every other boxer and give up on getting all the belts because it is not possible.
Fight Charlo or Canelo or get stripped?
He should drop the belt and set his own terms so all the ggg groupies can claim he is his own boss yet they criticized clenelo for doing the same
Then the clenelo fan boys can claim he is ducking when clenelo did the same thing and they praised him for it

I am a Golovkin fan and I think he has been badly mismanaged to the point of negligence. It's disgusting that he was outmaneuvered by fishnets, but he was.
Some of us don't think that dream ever was. Some of us think it was posturing by team Golovkin to get a payday, but they got out maneuvered.

His dream was to unify them all. Since he got stripped of the IBF, I seriously doubt he'll give a sh1t about any of them now. He doesn't have time in his career to chase the belts all over again. That dream is dead.
