Looking back at the major titles Floyd won, how do you think the following fighters would have stood up against a prime Pacquiao?
Genaro Hernandez
Jose Luis Castillo
Arturo Gatti
Zab Judah
Carlos Baldomir
Victor Ortiz
Canelo
Maidana
And there is a reason Floyd avoided Khan, Thurman, Bradley, Garcia, Porter, Martinez, a DLH rematch for a ton of money, a prime PAC, Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, and Williams. Avoided Freitas and Casamayor too.
15 page report of Floyd excuses soon to follow
What's funny is that people are still in denial that Canelo wasn't drained. He was so drained that Andre Ward noted that Canelo must be draining himself so much that he had to take a seat immediately, hung his head down, tired and looked like a dried potato while Floyd was jumping around, shadow boxing for the fans, looking in great shape as ever.
that's the reason I call floyd a fraud. his fights are excellently scheduled for his advantage. he went to retirement to bypass prime fighters (pac, cotto...). fought a novice weight drained canelo, ducked margarito and mosley in their prime, came in overweight to fight a blown up lightweight, and many more.
that's the issue that pac has since he started beating bigger opponents. pac's bigger opponents have the tendency to come forward and tried to annihilate him using their bigger frame. but knowing pac he prefers the come forward opponents and beat them in their own game. but after beating bigger opponents, haters try to accuse him of ped use.
Yep, after he made easy work of Margarito I don’t think Canelo’s size would have been an issue. Especially the green, weight drained version that Floyd fought.

Pacquiao loses to all of them
I don't know..... I kind of feel Castillo at LW would be a good fight.... I think the version of Canelo that Floyd fought would be a tough ask and I think Canelo would KO him..... and I think a 147 Maidana may be a little too strong/big/powerful for Manny.

The only fights Floyd avoided was ODLH rematch, Margarito and Williams due to retirement.
Nobody avoids Khan, Bradley was with a different promoter and it would had been a good fight to see. A potential fight against Martinez could had been done. The timing for Porter, Garcia, Freitas and Casamayor don't fall in line. Pac avoided tests for so long and was also with TR
Floyd ducked Khan. Don’t forget when he asked his fans to vote for his next opponent between Maidana and Khan. Fans chose Khan and Floyd chose Maidana, who Khan had already beaten.
Pac never missed any tests or avoided anyone. Garcia and Broner were each offered career high pay days of $4M for a fight and they declined. Timing for Freitas and Casamayor falls in line, as does Garcia and Porter when Floyd chose Berto instead.
And there is a reason Floyd avoided Khan, Thurman, Bradley, Garcia, Porter, Martinez, a DLH rematch for a ton of money, a prime PAC, Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, and Williams. Avoided Freitas and Casamayor too.

im not even a floyd fan, so if you want say he avoided some fights so be it, i just wanted to point the obvious as seen in the marquez fight, floyd has a much easiear time with counter punchers , and that style is all wrong for pac...
just as pac has a much eaisiear time with preassure fighters as seen in the margo and rios fights, floyd didvstrugle in the first maidana fight imo... so there you have it, styles make fights...
styles make fights... you guys are getting older here and just wont learn that...
floyd has an easy night vs counter punchers just ask marquez and canelo...
pac strugles vs counter punchers, even a drained version of canelo has faster hands and much more power than marquez... there is a reason pac never pushed for that fight despite all the money involved...

Yet when they fought he beat him pretty easily.
The beauty of boxing.
Absolutely, although, it would've been better if they fought each other around 2009-2010, but it is what it is. I still enjoyed the fight.
Pac did better against all common opponents, so with that idea in mind, however well floyd has done against his opponents, people can entertain idea Pac would do better. So it's not a stretch to imagine Pac koing gatti in 2 rounds, koing Castillo in 8 rounds, and stopping connor McGregor in 5 rounds
Against jmm floyd cheated scales so it don't count
Beats them all except probably Canelo due to size and style.
Stylistically he fairs well against most of them.
But then on the flipside I don't see Floyd getting stopped by Singsurat or Torrecampo nor do I see him losing to Morales or struggling x4 with Marquez for the same reason.
So it's all relative.
true
Pacquiao is a great fighter, but he has some off nights.
Of course its considered movement.
Just because they utilised such techniques doesn't mean that has to be replicated there's always more than one way to skin a cat, he has half a dozen losses and no two fights are the same. And just because a fighter has rarely if ever displayed something it doesn't mean he can't (Just like how Canelo apparently didn't have the feet to avoid GGG).
Floyd stayed away from everyones offense lol
He couldn't put combinations together like he once could and became increasingly negative during his latter years. I'm certain if Morales can stand in front of Manny and outfight him using an aggressive counterpunching style Canelo can if need be. Frankly he can beat him a number of ways not just because of his size but because he's the smarter fighter with the better boxing brain.
Its a predictable fight with Manny starting great for 3-4 rounds 6 being kind. His speed and angles absolutely would cause problems but he's human and that 20+ lb weight advantage WILL take its tole, those bodyshots will sink in and he will slow down. He'll become even more stationary, he'll start coming in in straight lines not moving his head and get wiped out. We've all seen it dozens of times, there are weight divisions for a reason. No 5ft6, 143lb man is beating a 170lb Canelo.
Floyd will always do better against counterpunchers, Manny will always do better against pressure fighters.
Meanwhile Pac mauled a prime Cotto and stopped him, while Canelo being the much bigger man went the distance with an older Cotto in a much closer fight. Canelo would not be able to handle the speed, angles, and explosiveness of a prime Manny. It would be Margarito all over again, especially for the green, weight drained version of Alvarez that fought Floyd.
Till nsb closes out its forums, its always been pac vs floyd, lets just leave both of them happy and say thank you that atleast in our lives we witnessed the art of offense and defense in a different perspective. Cheers

Running to Morales was the obvious move, for some reason thinking Canelo is skilled enough and has enough stamina to continuously time Pacquiao and develop a ramrod jab he has never shown to do just that, seems to jive with your mantra "just because he hasnt done it". That's a whole lot of wishful thinking. Lets also not bother mentioning that pacquiao was a lot less refined when he lost to morales.
People on here (guys that dont box im sure) always overplay the weight factor. Floyd is longer and as tall or slightly taller than Canelo, canelo isnt beating pacquiao on size alone, he's not a monster puncher neither, he's a decent puncher, so lets not act like Pacquiao cant trade with him a bit (although too often and he would indeed find him self heavy and cumbersome). Canelo is also not as intelligent inside the ring as pacquiao, that's a hilarious assumption, you're of the "defensive fightera are always smarter" school arent you? If canelo was so smart he'd know how to fight at different gears and he wouldnt have been outboxed by Golovkin.
Anyway, this seems stupid since we cant prove it, but I see the fight going opposite, but then again i'm structing my views from what i've seen not plucking it purely from imagination.
Canelo starts off well, using his speed, explosiveness, even his feet to slide along with pacquiao, pacquiao feints and feints him, weave and bob, being cautious of Clenelo's size, feint with the feet, feint with the feet, come in when it's least expected, canelo trying to unload on him but when he starts to punch pacquiao has jumped out. Pacquiao always trying to inch closer, canelo burning energy trying to stay on his toes to get those money shot counters. Who's winning after the first 2, maybe 3 rd's? Dunno, not important, remember what bradley said, those feints tire you out, bradley, supremely conditioned for 12 rd, marquez, supremely conditioned for 12 rd, mayweather, supremely conditioned for 12 rds, clenelo, foot off the peddle, laying on the ropes by rd 3. Clenelo eventually gets heavy on his feet and starts getting lined up by the left cross, he wont keep countering Because he wont be capable of keeping up with a pacquiao, and he'll proceed to get lit up for the duration of the fight. Poor young kid with his future ahead of him, should the corner have pulled him out? Can pacquiao sneak in some killer bodyshot like he did vs Margarito? That's a possible gameplan for roach and pacquiao to work on with the poor stamina displayed by Canelo vs Trout.
Aint no way Canelo is beating pacquiao unless he ko's him early, he's just gonna tire. When you're banking on a ko it also rarely works out.
to be honest, i think floyd would still beat canelo.
canelo doesnt do well with fighters that move and if floyd fight canelo now, i know floyd is gonna move a lot. at this point, he's not gonna risk exchanging with canelo. he's gonna tag him and move out.
if khan wasnt being an idiot and would have just box canelo instead, i think he would have survive longer or might even win a decision but he got c0cky trying to trade.
Definitely possible for Floyd to still win. It depends on which Floyd too. Younger Floyd may have been able to move for 12 rounds. Older Floyd might get tired from the constant pressure and move a bit less in the later rounds. Canelo could possibly break him down (and slow him down) by going to the body.
