All of you!
I have never in my life seen people with such higher intelligence than those I read on this forum.
I even thought it was God writing thru u guys at some point in time....
Hold the horses
Which God are you talking about ?
Been playing some but not quite as frequently - real life commitments have been taking up a bunch more of my time this last year and 2023 is looking to be even busier. I've been stepping up my participation in a few local community activities (you'll notice the fundraiser I'm doing in my sig for the youth club where I volunteer and I've recently taken on the promotions and social media role at our local repair cafe, as well as volunteering as a repairer)
I'm also getting qualified as a boxing for fitness instructor for kids and adults in a few weeks and looking to get a qualification so I can work as a paid Youth Worker - I'm finding the volunteering really rewarding and was figuring it was time for a bit of a career change anyway although I'll probably keep up the joinery odd-jobs and maintenance work as a sideline too.
I work 4 days a week. Rest one, work 2 days as a volunteer with kids with Autism.
Those 2 days are the best of the week!
All of you!

Brilliant! Lovely to hear. You’ve just inspired me, brother. Been wanting to volunteer and donate more. I take this as a sign. Godspeed on your training career and as a youth worker. So many people in need, especially kids.
Haha Thank you, my brother. I’d love to join, but the whirlwind nature of my life hasn’t changed. Been playing any chess online?
All the best to you and your loved ones in 2023! God bless you all.

Its not about failure its about safety . No logical or experienced lifter uses collars .
Anybody that goes to an actual gym will be using olympic style bars so there useless anyway .
-------------------
People don't use them as they are lazy.
I'm guilty myself of that.
Sliding weights off is fine when you lift light, If you try to slide weights off when you have 160kg + on the bar you will soon have a 7ft bar flying across the gym and damaged shoulders.
Many experienced lifters uses them. they aren't useles on Oly bars and they are required in every competition.
:lol1: Speaking of fight predictions I suspect I ask you every year about joining the Pick Em League cos I think you'd make a great addition and every year you knock me back cos you ain't got the time to commit to it - but I'd be remiss in my duties if I didn't ask you again in 2023....

And a belated Happy New Year to you too my old friend, hope '23 brings you good health, contentment and at least a little joy.:beerchug:

Off topic but as you're Cuban I'm curious if you think Julio Cesar La Cruz can do well as a pro? I enjoyed his am fights but not heard much buzz for his pro career yet and he's already in his 30s.
That guy is uber-talented, but I’m not a fan of his Muhammad Ali-on-steroids style. I don’t see him doing well in the pros, as he would have to be virtually perfect with that approach. Not to mention, as you pointed out, his age.
I agree with your post in general, Iceman. Most boxing aficionados tend to have a strong suit. But I wanted to touch on the highlighted statement. As a sports fan and someone who’s done their share of casino gambling, I would say that people who can predict the outcome of fights (or any sporting event, really) with any degree of regularity, are very rare. There are so many variables in sports. And it’s perhaps worse in boxing, where bad decisions — if not flat-out corruption — make predicting outcomes a true gamble.

"Boxing IQ" is not a very specific term...we have to be more specific...like I know guys who could tell you in 2 seconds the date of a Joe Louis fight from the 1940's...other guys know who every top fight is signed with and how much in purse bids all the major fights are going for. Guys know all details of PBC dealings, some know the win-loss records of all the major champions from the past 30 years. Other guys can break down fights really well, predict winners much more often than not, etc etc.
But for ME, just in my opinion, strictly for where I stand and what I think, when I think of a "boxing expert" I think of someone who can watch a fighter and see and correct the fighters mistakes can SHOW him what he is doing wrong and what to do to fix and plan out a strategy for a specific opponent.
So in reality you have to be very specific because I know guys who could tell you instantly who Joe Louis faced in his 10th title defense but could never in a million years show you in detail how to get more power in your jab.
There are definitely different aspects of intelligence and "IQ"
