I've never seen a fighter get that many chances at a KO, and still come up short. Badou Jack hit an old and tired Adonis Stevenson with everything but the kitchen sink, yet couldn't even drop the guy. The beating was so bad, that the commentators even called it an assault. Then, Stevenson managed to stun Jack with a body shot in the late rounds, and the rest of the match was a mud fight. It's weird, because he stopped Nathan Cleverly in his last fight, so he has power. However, if he couldn't finish Stevenson, I don't know if his power will be good enough against guys like Bivol, Beterbiev and Kovalev.
In my opinion, Jack was better off at 168. He had potential rematches against George Groves and James DeGale at that division. The only good reason I can think of, for why he moved up, is that he simply couldn't make weight anymore. If this is true, it sucks.
A ped to increase his ability to take shots?
Uhhh yea just like a person who’s on pcp could get beat for a hour straight and still not feel anything. That’s what drugs do they alter things like strength awareness and pain
You don't watch much boxing if that's the case. Badou is a hard worker, he isn't very athletic or talented. Biggest wastes of talent would be guys like Andrade, Broner, Russell Jr to a degree as he fights like once a year
Absolutely. Jack strikes me as a guy who is squeezing 110% out of what he was given. Fans have this idea that, somehow, these guys all have elite potential and if they aren't #1, they're failures. The guys we see on TV are the best of the best and Jack has made it really far without being a generic freak, without speed, power, technical wizardry. He has no real "gifts" other than being a hard worker.
He might be the biggest waste of talent in boxing.

I don’t get that too, I have read like three threads now where Jack is supposed to be this monster. The jack I saw this morning is the exact Jack that I know, nothing more, nothing less. Not sure where people were getting this extra talented Jack from. Maybe they have never seen him fight before, or maybe they basically associate every TMT boxer to Mayweather sort of talent.
That's exactly what it is, marketing. You attach the Mayweather name and people think a fighter is now a prodigy. Look what they've done with Davis. What they did with Broner.
Then, reality strikes and they wonder, "what happened??"
Guys, it never "happened" in the first place.
When did he ever have power? People keep attributing talents to Jack that he never had.
168 is garbage right now and it would be easier, competition wise. But, if he can't make the weight safely then he can't make the weight.

Cleverly? Lol. Did you see what Kovalev did to Cleverly when Kovalev was still green and Cleverly wasn't shot yet?
Kovalev's a knockout artist; Jack isn't. Not only that, but Jack hadn't fought at 175 before, while Kovalev's a career lhw.
Also lol @ bringing up degale because Jack couldn't beat him, but that no name guy managed to beat Degale in his next fight.
Jack knocked him down, and made him look like a zombie. Truax fought DeGale coming directly off of him having went life & death against Jack.
If you haven't noticed, nobody knows WTF you are talking about with the "power" thing. Jack isn't a powerful guy.

When did I ever call Jack powerful? Someone like Kovalev is a powerful fighter. I just said he has power. Why do you seem so irritated?
I mean, he stopped Cleverly in his 1st fight at 175, and made DeGale look like this
If that's what a fighter can do without power, I don't even wanna see what a fighter can do with power. On a serious note, it's not like I called him a knockout artist or anything. I just said he has power.

And, if that wasn't enough, I'll quote this one for good measure;
(Bute, lol)
Power? He went 12 against Bute, ffs.

Are you talking about Jack? If you are, what makes you say that?
If you're talking about Stevenson though then I'd probably agree.

Bute was on some type of PED he failed the test

Stevenson hasn't been dropped in years, he has a pretty solid chin and he's been fighting at 175 a lot longer than Jack, Jack was never the biggest KO puncher but he has decent power. I think Badou's biggest mistake was waiting way too long to start working, I understand he was trying to drag the fight to the late rounds so that Stevenson gets tired and loses his power and that worked to a certain degree, but he could've won more rounds early and he could've started pressing forward a round or 2 earlier than he did without risking that much more.
Rematch MUST happen and it should be in the US.
