Future Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao has spoken to WBN in the wake of Vasyl Lomachenko’s superb victory over Jorge Linares on Saturday night.
As the Filipino Senator prepares to take on Lucas Matthysse in a comeback fight this summer, Pacquiao has been the subject of constant speculation regarding a possible clash with Top Rank promoted ‘Loma’ this year.
Asked whether he’d be willing to accept the fight, potentially on American soil and whether he could attempt to boil down to the 135 pound limit for the first time in a decade, Pacquiao was optimistic the contest could happen.
“Yes, of course, we are interest in that fight,” Pacquiao exclusively told World Boxing News.
“Vasyl Lomachenko just beat Jorge Linares and he has the lightweight belt now (which means we can fight for a title).
“Why not fight again in America? I have always been a fighter. If a good fight can be made anywhere, we will be there to accept this fight.
On the weight stipulation, he added: “I could take a fight with Lomachenko at 135, but that would be pushing me to my limits."

As special as Loma is I'm not sure he is more special than the 4 HOF that were around during Manny's featherweight reign.
I agree, but that was prime Manny taken on those legends, not this shopworn Manny who struggled and lost to Horn on the scorecards.
I want Manny to get one last big victory, but Loma is on fire right now.
Manny can still probably beat him at 135, 140 and above I'd bet on Manny
... my guess is that if they fight it would be a PPV and Pac will rather "pass the torch" to Loma... (not very interested in such "demo fights")...
... Pac is willing to move down at 135 for Loma fight
... Pacman is old and can't make that big money he used to make... going down at 135 will be very difficult for him, while Loma can't fight properly above 135...
All depends on how Pac look fighting Mathysee, if he looks fresh he could be a problem for Lomachenko and can beat him... no doubt 5/6 years ago Manny would of KO Lomachenko.
Can Pacquiao even get down to 135 without straining or damaging his body? I doubt it. Guess they're passing on the Crawford fight.
Oh well, bring on Spence-Crawford-Thurman round robin.
This fight does nothing for Loma's legacy. It is a rubbish idea.
Take a fighter who is so faded that they were beaten by Jeff Horn. Let them age even more. Add some ring rust. Make them weight drained.
No thanks.
Can Pacquiao just retire already? He's well and truly shot, old (especially in ring years) and he's got a political career as a senator. He's ending up as another boxer who just doesn't know when to quit.
LOL at being shot, You understand that he walks around at 146 lbs right.... That's out of shape weight....
135 is an easy cut for him, just lay off the adobo and pancit and he is gtg.

Shot is when you go in against a guy like Jeff Horn and get blown out and stopped. Pac is not shot just yet and at 140 he will be a test for Lomachenko with his speed and power. Don't write the old guy off just yet.
here we go....lomo would beat a 40yr old drained pac now.
DONT EVEN START WITH THE " PRIME FOR PRIME"
because a prime 135 PAC would absolutely SMOKE Loma.
Death by 1000 left hands.
I don’t think Pac should try to go that low, but I understand he wants a huge pay day in the twilight of his career. At 135, I think this ends badly for him.
At 135 this fight ends really badly for Manny.
Even at at CW of 138 or similar, its nothing more than a payday fight.
Manny should have retired after Floyd.
Manny has been fighting between 145 and 153 (bell time) for many years now. To make 135 and be strong at that weight will take him some time. I don't think draining then re hydrating is a smart idea at his age now!
Lomo will turn him around just as he does with everyone he fights, Pac at his age will look old because he IS!

He's a rock solid 150 pounds too, just doesn't have too much weight to drain off.....He really trying to go out like Oscar
If the great Manny Pacqiuiao team cant get 140 for him they aint shyt

Arums the one that wants it most of all. Think Lomachenkos dad is the one holding it up
agree..probably is his dad..you see his dad freaking out in between rounds in linares fights...talking about low blows?, must be hard to watch your son fighting
