Yesterday i saw great reactions on twitter of this fight. Casuals love Loma. Also UFC fanboys seem to love Loma, a lot of comments of how Loma is the best thing they ever saw and how they he got them to watch boxing again. If you watch his twitter he has a steady rise. During the Rigo promotion he was around 60k followers now hes has grown to 120k after this fight with a good amount of fan interaction on his page.
Yeah there was talk from casuals about the fight over here in the UK. He Needs a rivalry I think to take it to the next level though.
If Tank could step up and be competitive, a trilogy with those two would make stars of both for very good and also very ugly reasons.
oh and before you young azz dudes come in here talking about someone hating sounding like a teenage girl, I like what lomachenko is doing fighting the best out there. I'm still pissed at Garcia for *****footing around and avoiding Linares for reasons only he and his brother knows. We can't be mad at that. Boxing needs more people like lomachenko. Lomachenko isn't the problem. I like the way he fights. I picked Rigo ti beat him, but he beat Rigo and I aint accepting a weight excuse just as if he loses when moving up, I aint accepting no excuse for that.
My only problem is with guys like Dan Rafael, Teddy Atlas, and fans acting like they've never seen a fighter use defense in boxing haha. The same guys calling Sweet pea and Mayweather "boring" are now praising defense. And I ****ing hate mayweather. I can't stand that mf and his fans. Lomachenko fans are just as bad becasue a lot of them just started watching boxing a couple years ago. I remember the night of Floyd vs Pac, the same day the spurs lost a game 7 to the Clippers, that Lomachenko fought on floyd/pac undercard and I'm the only one in the house that actually knew who he was and was telling everyone that he was gonna be a star. I watch all the weight classes. Inoue is one of my favorites. If someone is throwing leather, I'm watching. But I just hate it when the media has an agenda. Lomachenko is a bad mf. I like him, but all of this, "the best I've ever seen" bs gotta stop . I aint standing for that nonsense. He gotta give me at least 20 fights hahaha But I give him credit. He doesn't need to move up. I actually recommend him cleaning out 130 than fighting Garcia cuz that might be bad for him and I wouldnt' think any less of him if he moved back down.
You don't need to speak a certain language to have charisma. You either have it or you don't.
how you gonna say someone has more charisma than another when you don't even know what one guy is saying though? Just a simple question if you care to answer? You don't have to.
Problem is, he doesn't have the "angle" that makes a star, in the US at least. Doesn't have the nationalistic support. Doesn't hit the personality angle. Isn't a heavyweight. Doesn't look particularly interesting. Isn't wild and aggressive like Manny was. He's just a damn good boxer and guys like him only garner a certain amount of popularity. Ward had the same problem.
As a hardcore boxing fan, that doesn't bother me. I like guys who aren't pop stars.
Yes I think he will be a star. Hes already getting there. Arum made a smart move moving these guys to ESPN. Loma has a lot of charisma too unlike Crawford so that helps.
He doesn't even speak english hahahahahaha.
looking at what tr is doing with loma, it gets me wondering what he could do with the charlos and spence. loma might not be the ppv star like manny and floyd but, i think he will be recognizable mainstream wise and im not talking about on no damn wheaties boxes.
:firedevil
I think so. Not to the Manny/Floyd level or even Cotto/Canelo type of draw but considering he will be fighting majority of his fights on ESPN going forward and Bob is pretty good at building stars, he will be a guy people want to watch for a long time.

If he's the best they've ever seen, then they haven't watched much boxing, but that goes without saying. The same can be said for any casual boxing fan that just started watching in the Mayweather era. I'm sorry, I'm just not impressed with guys fighting twice a year. And that goes for anyone

You forgot to put how actual boxing fans love watching Loma.
