Whyte is too young and fit for Ortiz, Whyte is in his prime now, Ortiz has been declining for years.
People forget Whyte has an incredible chin as well and is improving all the time.
Ortiz is the better and more experienced fighter but he's about 15 years older than Whyte. He's got poor stamina, he's slow and his reflexes and punch resistance are not what they used to be. Whyte, on the other hand, is young and hungry, he's got a solid chin, decent power and good skills and he's improving. I'm betting on youth.
I feel like Whyte could have the attributes to potentially turn this fight into a contest but... come on now.
Anyone who'd bet on Whyte obviously isn't very attached to their money.
It's a dangerous fight for both guys. Ortiz is coming off of a brutal loss that dented his chin and Whyte has no talent in boxing, but he likes to fight. I like the fight lol...
It will be good fight which I see Whyte winning because he will be too too young, strong and determined for a 40 yo man with high blood pressure and no stamina to cope with.
If this is pre-Wilder Ortiz I'm picking him easily, but this is Ortiz fresh off a HUGE knockout loss. Ortiz had never been put down let alone KO'd like that, and he has no tuneups for this fight.
I wouldn't be surprised if Whyte KO's him, look at what happened to Stiverne after Wilder 1, he was struggling vs Rossy and that was a tuneup.
At this stage I'd probably pick Whyte. Ortiz gassed quickly last time out and hasn't shown impressive form in a while so conventional wisdom favors the younger fighter at this point. It's also possible after a KO loss he's not quite the same guy.
Would be a good fight though. Not that easy to predict.
Considering dave allen and malik scott were competetive with ortiz i think whyte may be able to do ok.
Whyte actually has skills hes not wilder who literally only has a right hand and no other boxing skill
Those were not competitive fights, Ortiz won every single round with Allen and Scott barely doing anything.
Whyte's best skill is his jab which is actually quite good. But Ortiz totally took away Wilder's jab due to his skill level and the fact that he's a southpaw. Ortiz would take away Whyte's jab then destroy him on the inside.
Brits and wilder haters obviously. Which are basically the same thing
This is the only way anyone sees Whyte beating Ortiz;
