I heard that team Golovkin was going to get James Kirkland if they couldn't get Martirosyan.
Thats the best they could do? Vanes was never that good to begin with and his last win was 2016.
I'm tired of a handful of boxers holding divisions hostage. Canelo never fought @ middleweight before the Golovkin bout, and Golovkin fights guys nobody knows or has heard of besides Jacobs and Lemeiux
Yeah because a guy fighting every 6 months against bums like Charlo did at 160 the last year is the same as a guy fighting weak opposition on 4 weeks notice.
That's the fact "you guys" can't get through your heads. He didn't schedule this fight in January, he already had a mega fight lined up but the other guy decided to cheat and got caught.
im not here for any of this, the fact anytime a fighter gets props and you all find a way to ridicule him is the issue. I like gggee and I understand its not his fault, if you read my other posts I have stated it, but the threads posted by his fanatics trying to make vanes out to be a good fight is what I was talking about. you don't just move up in weight and start fighting the very best in the division, its smart to work your way up. lets noty act like before Jacobs gggee was destroying all these big names.
While you are complaining about the middleweights being held hostage by GGG you must have forgotten there is another middleweight world champion. Saunders has been the WBO world middleweight champion for two and one half years. He has made 3 defenses of that title. He defended it against Akavov who most of us never heard of. Then he defended it against Monroe Jr. Who GGG had knocked out. Then he defended it against Lemieux who GGG had knocked out. In June he will be defending it against Murray who GGG had knocked out. The number 1 and number 2 WBO middleweight contenders for Saunder's title are Andrade and Jacobs. Murray is the number 6 WBO contender.
I hope you guys realize the biggest reason why we are giving you a hard time is because you all constantly bash other fighters competition and downplay their wins. and you all are making it even worse by making threads as to why this is a good fight

Do you guys not understand Training Camps? GGG has been training for MONTHS for Canelo's SPECIFIC STYLE. You can't expect him to take on an "Elite" opponent with a completely different style on such short notice, especially at his age.
Annnnd, look above..p4p? Should be able to adjust, that's why golovkin is overhyped and has no place even in the top 5 at best
I agree. Vanes is not as bad as TS is making him out to be. He knocked Andrade down and held him to a close sd. He had a draw with Lara and a very close loss to Jermell Charlo. He has been constantly in training the past two years but had several fights fall through. Those who hate the fight have the option not to watch it.
Vanes would probably knock out the guy Jermall just knocked out.
He really doesn't look like he's been training the last 2 years, I'm sorry, but that just seems like total bullsh1t
Lol like it's only golovkin fans who do this.. Please
of course not but in this situation being that they kept making those threads it was the perfect target, its really canelos fault at the end of the day but he could have found a better opponent
Canelo dropped the WBC almost a minute after he got it anyway. The common belief is that it was to duck GGG, but I'm thinking 50/50 ducking GGG and VADA lol
Yup. I can't argue that.
What baffles me about that entire fiasco was: Before he even signed the fight with Cotto, it was in both of their contracts that if either of them won, that Gennady was the mandatory and they would HAVE to face him next. Canelo won. Canelo wanted a Khan fight. WBC said "if you win, you have 7 days to negotiate a Gennady fight". GGG let him fight Khan. Canelo won. Gennady was still mandatory. WBC gave him one more week to negotiate. Yet, once those 2 weeks were up he starts this "you can't force me to negotiate a fight with him right now" narrative. It was very confusing to me.
“For the entirety of my career, I have taken the fights that no one wanted because I fear no man....but I will not be forced into the ring by artificial deadlines".
It's like he got mad at the WBC for enforcing what was in the contract. Very strange.

shhhhhh that's logic!
LOL. Word. Another thing people don't realize is that if you don't fight at a mandated weight class, those fights aren't sanctioned, and you aren't subject to certain testing protocols that others are in sanctioned fights.

It's an easy narrative to make when you can make up your own weight class though. I wonder why more fighters don't do it. I should demand to only fight guys at 207lbs

And technically, Canelo has been fighting at middleweight since 2014. He fought at middleweight against Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, Cotto, and Khan. Then fought at super middleweight vs Chavez Jr.
The "he never fought at middleweight" narrative is played out and false.

Canelo beat Cotto for the lineal & WBC MW championships, and defended them against Khan too you idiot.
Also, Golovkin fights nobodies, yet he's cleared out the middleweight division...

The fact of that matter is this:
- There are bigger fights out there for them (status wise and financially), but they risk losing the big money fight
- Jermall will easily have to wait 18 months before the WBC chooses to enforce the Charlo fight. He has the WBC rematch in September (possibly), then the IBF mandatory, then the WBA mandatory. Not to mention the unification bout looms, which can extend it further beyond just mandatory bouts.
So, now, as a young fighter waiting to get your shot and a big payday, do you keep taking small fights that mean less and less? Or do you build your resume and take bigger fights with good paydays that will essentially elevate you to the level you've been wanting?
