Wilder says he doesn't fight for the money but then turns down Hearns offer, WHAT

First, fight fans need to stfu about money. We have no STAKE in the finances of a fight. Second, he's got advisors who have a better grasp on the finances of a bout, let fighters decide what money is right for them.

When he said he doesn't fight for money, he was meaning, he's only worth peanuts. The dude fights for a sandwich and a bus ticket because that's what he's worth.

He doesn't fight for money alone but getting fair pay is important to him just as it is to every other pro boxer. He is 32 years old and a world champion. It's what he does for a living. He risks his health and his life when he goes to England to fight a puncher like AJ. Of course he wants fair pay. Don't be ridiculous. The way anyone can tell AJ's offer of a 12.5 million flat fee is an insult is that AJ wants a flat fee of 50 million or well over 4 times what he offered Wilder. AJ wants to be well paid so why in hell wouldn't Wilder also want to be fairly paid. Wilder deserves more money but not over 4 times as much money. If AJ offers Wilder a 65/35 split in AJ's favor of all the money available to pay the fighters after all the numbers are in then Wilder would probably accept that offer. So far Wilder has only been offered a much too small flat fee and he shouldn't accept it.

You guys have such small, narrow vision. Yea, Deontay talks a lot, but the money he makes is not just his own. He's got many people around him relying on that money. If he were to take any fights for any money, his management, trainer, legal team, etc would dump him. These people gotta get paid. Though you think it's Deontay himself signing these fights, it's not. He's not even negotiating them. He pays professionals to do this and, while they consult with him, they sure as hell aren't going to take far less than what each fight entitles them to. It takes a bit of maturity to understand these things.

Wilder keeps saying he doesn't fight for money and he doesn't care about money, but then he's offered 6x his highest amount and suddenly he does care about the money. I don't get it. Manny used to say the same thing...

It has already been explained numerous times, but let me say it again: a flat fee is disrespectful in such a big fight. You should know that the mindset play a lot in the ring, letting yourself get disrespected in the build up will only help the other guy
