21 fights and 4 titles - I feel this man is a politically hype job by the media, his continents fan base and more.
He doesn't seem to be "ALL THAT" super star material.
I showed my casual mate AJ highlights and he doesn't think AJ is "all that"
What do you think?
He's definitely overhyped. The Brits are in for a rude awakening when he steps into the ring against Wilder.
The same wilder who turned down $12,500,000 and the chance to be undisputed to fight brezeale for peanuts. Please.
Totally agree he is, but I still praise him for attaining 3 belts whilst still not being all that. I think he is a prospect who took risk, was lucky or fortunate but still took the risk. He could easily had gone the 40 fights in 10 years route and call himself the man like some brit do. But his risk paid off for him.
judging by his parker performance he is a hypejob who needed a bent ref to help him out, bad signs all round, hes still a better boxer than wilder tho but wilder is more dangerous at times, whoever lands the first great shot wins most likely, will be great
He's pretty good. But, British fans tend to get overly excited about, and protective of, local fighters. He's no Lennox Lewis and people should have reasonable expectations about the guy.
I think the difference with his fans and Wilder fans is that most Wilder fans admit the guy is a mess, technique-wise. They just think he's exciting and like watching him fight. AJ fans are pretending that he's beyond criticism and of course he's never going to live up to that. I think part of Wilder's popularity is that people are tired of the AJ hype.
I've seen a lot of Wilder fans on here say his technique is very good and that he has a high level of Boxing skill and IQ. I think that's crazier than saying Joshua is a top level fighter.
I think Joshua is a good fighter, perhaps very good but he's still very much a work in progress and far from the finished article. He's won 3 titles and beaten the most ranked guys so he's the best of the bunch currently but it's a bad bunch. He has a long ways to go before he can be considered great or in an all-time Heavyweight discussion.
A Wilder win won't do it for me because I think he's already beaten better fighters than Wilder but if he's able to beat Wilder, Povetkin and a re-rejuvenated Fury then I think the people who've appeared to over hype him to date will be vindicated somewhat.
i don't think anyone could live up to the boxing messiah that british boxing fans make him out to be, in fairness, but joshua is the goods and he's proven it in my opinion.
yes, any professional fighter who is beating champs is good imo! Id never just outright bash a fighter at the top n call him a bum like some do here. Aj can improve but hes a good fighter
nobody is discrediting them hes simply just not all most are hyping him up to be, those are decent wins he has the best wins of any current hw but not by far as most are potraying

joshua beat klitschko and parker. He is all that.
Whether he's better than wilder remains to be seen but to discredit his credentials is foolish.

half decent fighter I guess nothing special maybe even limited?
and certainly not expected by me to dominate the division I think he loses to both wilder and fury (if he isnt shot to bits)
Wilders popularity (very little of it, not even 300k Twitter followers) is exclusively down to Americans being jealous of the fact that 'the man' in heavyweight division is from Britain and is carrying the flag for Britain to be the new home of boxing.
Americans are desperate for a heavyweight to change that.
We have an American with the real title. Your boy has collected garbage trinkets and he’s scared of Wilder which is why you talk jealousy lmao.
Nobody is jealous of that mofo lmao. You must be sick in the head lol..
You call Joshua a political Hype Job?
Deontay Wilder is the legit definition of that.
The WBC wanted a north american champ for YEARS hence repeatedly giving Areolla shots, then Wilder got a totally undeserved shot against bum stiverne for that very reason and has been hyped and protected ever since.
If the guy gets the AJ fight he has had the EASIEST road to an undisputed world title. And the reason is politically motivated because he is american.
Joshua on the other hand has had to beat legitimate opponents for all his belts bar charles martin.
What a dumb ****en post lmao. Yo, this is hilarious and it’s Joshua dick blowing at its finest lmao. Lol
He’s fought half the fights of wilder. Wilder is only considering taking on he better fighters in the division now. Joshua therefore has a lot to learn despite having achieved so much already.
this is not a wilder aj thread its asking is AJ all he is being hyped up to be by his fans, and the answer is No, tho hes a good fighter who can improve on some things just like the rest, its like everything is a competition with you all or someone is jealous of the uk??? wtf

The poll so far is speaking for itself.

the thread is about AJ not wilder sir
hes a decent fighter with a cool personality who is highy overrated by his fans as if hes this savior of boxing and already an ATG. I like AJ but the way his fans go around the net disrespecting people and fans of other HW boxers has become too much. I know not all of his fans do this but A big number of them do. They are even fans of his promoter and anything he says they find a way to defend, its as if they lose sense of what being a human is all about just because they have a decent fighter with belts.

Well said, yeah I was a big AJ fan ever since his first pro fight, I didn’t really like wilder too much until his first title fight but I was rooting for him anyway.
But now the hype machine is in full throttle and AJ’s fans are becoming increasingly intolerable, I am still an AJ fan but I just want to see him fight the Russian (two gold medal winners going at it) and Wilder in that order.
If he wins both I will tattoo the Union Jack on my face and learn some soccer chants, lol
