Just rewatched Johan Duhaupas vs Deontay Wilder. Wasn't impressed by Wilder

Duhaupas is a solid fighter, probably Wilder's second or third best win

I remember that fight, Wilder hit Duhaupas with everything and the kitchen sink and Duhaupas didn't go down. That was the first time I've seen Wilder's face/eye busted up and swollen. Wilder has gotten better since then, sure he still fights ugly and looks like he can't box for s hit at times but he has gotten better. Both teams Joshua and Wilder need to get this fight done. I'm not involved in the negotiations so it's not my place to say who is right or wrong. That's for both teams to decide. Hopefully they can get this fight made by the fall this year.

Deontay Wilder practically made Johan Duhaupas look like a prime version of Gennady Golovkin. If they were the same size, I know who my money would be on. That should answer the question of who the more skilled boxer is between Golovkin and Wilder. Since Duhaupas is still a poor man's Golovkin. Wilder was getting out-jabbed, out boxed, badly marked up on his face and visibly damaged by Duhaupas. Duhaupas landed just as many, if not more effective punches on Wilder than vice versa. But he was the far superior ring general and showed arguably the better defense. I had the fight close to or dead even at the time of the questionable, seemingly premature stoppage. If Duhaupas was able to do what he did to Wilder by winning as many rounds as he did, whilst also being as effective as he was offensively and in terms of effective punches landed. I can imagine how badly Alexander Povetkin at his best or Anthony Joshua or Wladimir Klitschko would've beaten Wilder. Even Kubrat Pulev, who is arguably superior to Johan Duhaupas in nearly every department, would arguably have beaten Wilder too. Word! I can imagine too. And if Wilder hasn’t gotten better since that Duhaupas fight, then why do you think that Joshua and Hearn are reluctant to fight Wilder? I mean Pulev is arguably better than Duhaupas right? Lol

Duhaupas was schooling Wilder with a basic jab (AKA Golovkin like jab). As a result, Wilder lost multiple rounds against Duhaupas. Got his dark skinned face badly busted up and visibly damaged. Better boxers like Joshua, Povetkin, Wladimir klitschko or even Kubrat Pulev would've beaten Wilder that night. The first 3 would've done Wilder by knockout! You went off the board with Pulev, Pulev not stopping anyone, would get knocked out by Wilder.

You misunderstood the point of the thread. I never claimed Wilder or Duhaupas were on Golovkin's level. Rather, Wilder made Duhaupas look like Golovkin because of how bad Wilder himself is. Not necessarily because Duhaupas is really on Golovkin's level. And Duhaupas fought using a similar style as Golovkin against Wilder and had tremendous success at out-boxing Wilder. This thread was a partial response to another thread asking who the better fighter is between Wilder and Golovkin. I'm also a Golovkin BTW. Of course Duhaupas isn't on Golovkin's level. Just that he used a similar style as Golovkin and Wilder made Duhaupas look like he was on Golovkin's level. I challenge you to re-watch the fight and then tell me you disagree.
