Why is it that Wilder and his retarded fans think it's fine for Wilder to ask for 10x+ his best ever payday whereas AJ should settle for 40-50%+ his?
Can somebody explain this to me?
Calculations:
Gate: USD10-12m
PPV (UK only) 1.5million x £19.95 (30 USD ish) = 45million
US TV: USD 10million
International TV: USD2million
total = 69million
Sky take 20%
Eddie takes 20%
44million left.
They offered Wilder ca 17m so roughly 40% of the fighters purse.
What's the issue here?
Go at it gentleman.
AJ, Hearn and his fans are not allowed to worry about money or be accountants. Only Wilder and his welfare hand out squadron of fans can do that.
Like I said, do people not think Joshua wants to maximise his earnings just like Wilder does??
You can't compare it to the Parker situation because Joshua now has 3 belts heading into this fight, so even if he gave Parker 33% it doesn't mean he will do the same for Wilder, he overpaid Parker to get into a position of power against Wilder. Listening to interviews you can tell Joshua genuinely does not like Wilder and does not respect his drawing power so don't expect any generosity in negotiations. The flat fee won't be accepted but it was designed as a standing point to let Wilder know he's not dictating anything. The fight will get made somewhere around 70/30 by the looks of it. If Wilder is serious and not trying to cash out then he'll accept that.
And here, we can see, a rational human in the wild....
https://media.giphy.com/media/gYT7i5OXEBaso/source.gif
dude joseph parker got 33%!
wilder is not going to take a flat offer with no date, no guarantee that the fight was even next, no venue, and 48 hours to agree to terms that aren't even spelled out! that offer is designed to not make the fight. surely you have to understand that and aren't this naive.
You're just as bad as the moron's quoting false numbers and deadlines.
They have a 30 day deadline to make the fight before the mandatory is forced. There is no "take it or leave it" offer. The fight will be in September at Wembley........
So much fake news on here, and you're a contributor.
Untill wilder and his team become reasonable then i dont care when this fight happens now.
the purse is 6x his highest purse which shows just how much drawing power wilder has without an AJ fight.
Joshua holds all the aces its that simple

by offering a flat fee for the biggest fightt in boxing?
hoyl **** dude joseph f#cking parker got a split and you think eddie and joshua are being cool headed by offering wilder a flat fee? what does that even mean in this context? let's establish the context, then; this is the biggest fight in boxing! historically those fights have had a purse split! those goes back to before you and i were even alive! it's a cool headed offer in spite of the fact that it is totally out of line for any historic precedent set in big fights, and line with flat fee offers, which are almost unheard of in the biggest fight of the year?
are you sure you think that way?
and i do want you to produce the links you are describing, i don't have time to dig around this afternoon.

Ok so basically I think the moral of the story is get facts before you start talking. Especially considering you have "media credentials" lol.
I think your post is very excitable, so something has rubbed you the wrong way. I think the flat fee is a starting point for negotiations, just like the Parker fight, these guys are unrealistic with their expectations, so it's Hearn's job on behalf of Joshua to lower those expectations. The first offer to Parker was "insulting" according to David Higgins.
I don't think $12.5 million is insulting, I think the notion of the flat fee maybe is. If Wilder and his team are serious, and realistic, a deal will be reached, you can tell AJ wants it from that interview. But I don't think they will bend over backwards for Wilder. Let's see what Finkel's counter offer looks like, from the sounds of it, he is already willing to concede over 60% to Joshua based on that Sky interview.
My feeling is that eventually Joshua will offer something between 30-35% and it will be up to Wilder whether he wants to take it. For the record, I don't think the purse as a % will be too far from the $12.5, probably another $3-4 million, but obviously we don't know what the numbers will be.
Wilder's right to hold out for a percentage, this fight could go beyond expectations in terms of revenue, similar to GGG-Canelo. At the same time, Matchroom and Joshua are also right to test the waters, and yes currently they are the coolest heads in the room, mind you that isn't hard, they are in a strong negotiating position, and they know it.
The offer was not "take it or leave it", and there was no 48 hour deadline. AJ confirmed that on an IFL interview on the 12th, and Shelly Finkel also confirmed this yesterday. I can provide both links if required but I'm sure you can find them yourself.
A lot of BS being spoken, lots of miscommunication. The only people who are showing any assemblance of a cool head are Joshua and Hearn.

that's not what he's asking. a fight of this magnitude calls for a split of the purse. joseph freaking parker got a purse split in the mid 30's! wilder was offered a flat fee. he's not asking for the bulk of the purse, he's asking for a split, which was not offered. they got a take it or leave it offer with a 48 hour window with basically nothing other than 12.5 million. no guarantee the fight would be next, no venue, no date, nothing. you understand why that's a problem for a managment team that needs to know when they are fighting and who, correct?
it was not designed to be accepted, it's not even acceptable! just take a step back for a minute and look at what's being said by each team and what hearn, the guy holding all of the leverage, actually offered. if they wanted to mmake this fight happen all they'd need to do was offer up a reasonable split to start negotiations, and then, you know, actually negotiate.

here is an artile on it that you clearly didn't read. sorry, dude, that's just what it is. you didn't even have the number correct, and it's literally the only thing they offered! you're just talking, you do not know what you're talking about !

Funny that’s not the tune you were singing when Canelo offered ggg a flat fee.
Never mind. It just came to me. Wilder is black and ggg is white and in your racist opinion that’s justification.
Exactly. When it was GGG, he talked about the concept of the flat fee offer being unfair. Now that its Wilder, he talks about the money being offered and does a complete 180 on how he feels about flat fee offers.
All you can hope is that the reason for him flipping is because he loves GGG and is a Brit so he doesn't want to criticize AJ even though he's on record as saying flat fee offers mean you don't want to fight.
Sadly, if you read his posts, I think your reasoning is more likely.
Yeah I genuinely don't get Why they are so upset about the flat fee. Money is money and wilder isn't getting anywhere near that amount in any other fight. I'm genuinely shocked that wilder fans don't think that's a big enough amount of money for him, who the **** do they think he is lol. Does he really deserve much more than Parker? What s he done that's so much better?

"Of course it depends on the pay-per-view buys, but I would hope that a fight between Joshua and Wilder generates over £100m"
Guess who said that?
... and the figured out US PPV wasn't available so they came back down to earth again.
Maybe they did, but he ended up making around half what Wilder was offered.
Haha fat schaefer. that guy lost his marbles completely, talking about 100m dollars.
Then give AJ 50million

They were the A side v parker too and they gave him a split so obviously they made unacceptable offer because they don't want the fight
Other promoters are calling it like it is

They're getting the upside/ lion share of the split they will make more money and you just said 12.5M is 40% of a realistic revenue
So why not eliminate the risk and offer a split just in case
... I just answered that.

Eddie Hearn said on Twitter just now than Parker got less than half what they offered Wilder.
Is it doing double the numbers? Doubt it.
it is not. it's less than nine million pounds sterling and equals roughly 12.5 million in USD. you need to look into this further if you don't understand that eddie hearn's offer was not designed to be accepted! you didn't even know what the offer was, man.
12.5million usd is still more than Wilder will make for the rest of his career fighting anybody but AJ :lol1:
AJ makes this fight, not Wilder. Those are just facts.
Because the A side wants the upside? :lol1:
How hard is it to understand that they want more money from this fight too?

I'm not scared :lol1: Everything about their fights tells me AJ smokes him or outboxes him. Either or.
