Trying to see what NSB thinks on this. Having a debate at the moment. Which of these fighters has a stronger argument that they were indeed "robbed". All of them felt they won.
The fighters are:
Erislandy Lara (vs Hurd)
Sergey Kovalev (vs Ward, 1st meeting)
Marcos Maidana (vs Mayweather, 1st meeting)
Manny Pacquiao (vs Horn)
Kovalev, i thought he won pretty clearly although the fight was close
Me too. I find it hard to see how Ward won even 6 rounds in that fight, never mind more than 6. Plus he got dropped.
It was close and Ward come back into it but there was only one winner in that first fight.
the problem with the Kovalev fight is that it was a political decision.
When you fly out of the states, which I do on a regular basis, nobody understands how in hell the judges had that fight for Ward and as a matter of fact, it makes the USA look really stupid on that decision.

HOW THE HELL ARE MORE PEOPLE VOTING ON WARD-KOVALEV??
Out of those I have to go with Pacquiao getting jobbed and robbed against Horndog. That was sad. Kov vs Ward was tight, so was Lara vs Hurd. Big difference in close vs robbed. Too bad that was probably Manny’s last hurrah and he was crapped on. He needed to be ushered out for the new gen anyway, just a shame it was like dat doe.
May vs Maidaina wasn’t a robbery, could’ve been a possible draw but that’s even a lil stretch. Peeps just wanted to see Money lose so bad that they exaggerate the truth, or see what they want to. 7-5 Mayweather

How can something even be remotely considered a robbery when 6 of 8 international judges had Horn winning a close but clear decision?
You've got to be kidding me.
6 of 8 international judges had Horn winning a close but clear battle against a Manny that didn't show up, didn't take the guy serious and got bullied and tossed around for 7 rounds.
Meanwhile, there's NOBODY that had Ward winning the first fight, Not after getting dropped on his ass and outboxed half the fight.
Forget the judges bro.
When the ref let you grab, headbutt, tackles, kick, do some judo tricks to your opponent at will like Horn did to Pac, then it's already a robbery.
Only a slow trainer with Parkinson would let his fighter getting brawled like that.
Floyd beat Maidana no doubt
Hurd beat up Lara and dropped him at the end of the fight wich gave him a clear edge IMO.
Kovalev clearly beat Ward IMO, you would have to give Kovalev only 5 rounds to makes him the loser, in no way Ward won 7 rounds.
The true, worst robbery was Pac vs Horn, the judges, the ref they all screwed Pacquiao.
Ward somehow overcame a bigger scoring deficit with the fewest moments out of any of the others.
with zero moments is more like it. he somehow won round 10 too which makes zero sense. i'm not sure if boxing is on the up and up
Erislandy Lara (vs Hurd) - Still need to watch
Sergey Kovalev (vs Ward) - I had Kov in a close fight
Marcos Maidana (vs Mayweather) - Had Mayweather in close fight
Manny Pacquiao (vs Horn) - I thought Pac won in a 8-4 kind of fight
I thought Pacquiao was badly robbed and the ref let Horn fight dirty as hell with no warning. That was a true robbery to me. I thought Kovalev clearly won but not be a big enough amount to call it a robbery. It was fairly close on my scorecard. Mayweather clearly beat Maidana and Hurd deserved his win over Lara in a close fight. The last round made sure he got the win he earned.
Pac is the only one where I saw an actual robbery.
Maidana was not as close as people want to remember.
Ward edged it but I can understand people thinking Kovalev had it too. Unfortunately, the people who argue that fight are usually morons who think Kovalev won 9 rounds.
kovalev won easily. ward didn't win a single round clearly in that fight. you could give him 3,4,5 razor close rounds but he was beaten handily. in the other fights horn, lara, maidana all won a number of rounds clearly.
Thought Kov clearly won 7-5 in a pretty simple fight to score.
Lara was 7-5 Or so either way or 6-6 with a KD
Floyd clearly won the Maidana fight
I thought Pac won the Horn fight
I'd say Kov got the worse decision only because I think the rounds were pretty easy to score in that fight.
Erislandy Lara (vs Hurd) -------Lara lost close match
Sergey Kovalev (vs Ward, 1st meeting)----Koval lost
Marcos Maidana (vs Mayweather, 1st meeting)------Marcos won
Manny Pacquiao (vs Horn)---Pac lost
My Marcos win was cutting hairs but Mayweather really performed poorly and was scared to engage. Senior was begging him to step it up and he never did.
Reminded me of Leon out hustling an unprepared Ali.

How did you score Floyd vs Maidana 1 ?
I agree but all the fighters mentioned all used the word to describe it, I just rolled with it. That's how they saw it.
Fair enough, I can understand that.
