Hurd at least makes his divisional weight limit, Canelo fought 154 pounders Angulo and Lara at a cw of 155lb.
Rehydration is a huge problem in modern boxing but when a guy is making his divisional limit, you can't complain too much.
People was crying about the rehydration of Canelo before the Canelo weight ....
Guy looked like a 168 pounds.
He had an extreme advantage in weight.
And nobody is crying.
But with Canelo all the world was crying.

Isn't the 2nd day weigh in conducted in the morning? If so he could've easily rehydrated to a heavier weight for the actual fight.
There is no way he was only 1 pound bigger

One pound difference my ass!
Situations like this sometimes make me wonder if fighters should be split up according to height rather than weight, but then that brings its own problems and robs you of a ton of interesting matchups. I don't think there's an easy, watertight solution for securing even matchups when it comes to size.
He made weight. Even the morning weigh in. I have to problem with him winning.
But that doesnt change my opinion on him having the size advantage inside the ring.
Hurd is bigger than Trout (5'10") who is bigger than Lara (5'9").
He gets hit a lot so I dont know what will happen once he faces an opponent with similar attributes.

Hurd easily weighted 173 pounds in the ring
if he can get down to that weight without drugs then i dont see what the problem is.
i don't see a problem either. Everyone bulks up after the weigh in. Everyone isn't mayweather(and I'm not a mayweather fan so don't start that bs with me) . I don't care if a guy can put on 50 lbs after the weigh in, if it's his right to do so, then do it

he was taller than lara. He looked bigger than lara at the weigh in cuz he's taller but lara actually weighed more hahaha.

Because there was no weight advantage at all. Showtime gave the fight night weights. Lara went into the ring at 162 pounds and Hurd went in the ring weighing 163 pounds for a huge 1 pound weight edge. Watch the replay if you doubt this. There is no reason to cry about a weight advantage that never existed.
If both don't break the rules and make weight, then that's fine with me.
Size is an attribute like speed, power etc is. Will you say oh but this guy hasn't got power does anyone feel sorry he's facing skene with it?
I felt bad for Lara. He clearly is fighting a man much bigger than himself, and more skilled than Hurd but the size advantage erases all of those
Exactly thats my point...
