How much of the Joshua Wilder hoopla is scripted?

For many months now there's been talk of AJ and Wilder's eventual meeting and the prospects of an undisputed heavyweight champion. Throughout this period there's been a steady supply of commentary from each side around the possible structure of a deal. From Wilder's side there was the 50/50 or no fight interview, which drew a derisory retort from Eddie Hearn. And so on, and so on for months and months. My question is, how much of this is real and how much for show? Are these really two opposing camps or two participants in a show designed to build controversy and ultimately the takings in a series of mega fights which are in both parties interests?

it's amazing to me how Floyd and Manny went from making $40 million in 2010 to damn near splitting $700 million in 2015. you dont think the suits behind the scenes in this Wilder/AJ saga noticed that? Exactly. We are talking about massive sums of money. Behind closed doors there will be projections of earnings, input from the tv companies, discussions with commercial partners about cross promotions leveraging the pre fight publicity etc etc. Is there a pre-fight schedule for generating buzz, social mentions? An engagement plan to generate conversations around the fight? A series of pre-scripted events and pre-planned controversy to get factions arguing and using core engaged fans to drive conversations on the wider social platforms? If you were in a marketing team for any decent sized company these days planning a product launch you'd have some or all of the above. So how much of the pantomime has been pre-written?

If you want to fight someone you shouldn't be telling them to fight your leftovers and that you're not willing to let them enter the ring. So yeah I feel like some of it is real, Eddie perhaps stirring the pot and a bit anxious about putting his cash cow in with someone who he knows for a fact could put AJ out.

If we learned anything from the Floyd/Manny soap opera is that marinating works! no matter how fed up we as fans get they KNOW we will still tune in when it EVENTUALLY takes place. no matter how many years in the future that "eventually" is. they got us by the balls. and I will admit no matter how long it takes I will still watch every second of it. I am NOT comparing them to Floyd and Manny in terms of careers but I am comparing them in the sense this is THE fight fans are clamoring for. Canelo/GGG just died so AJ/Wilder matchup stands alone. expect the boiling pot to spill over. the demand is hot. it's amazing to me how Floyd and Manny went from making $40 million in 2010 to damn near splitting $700 million in 2015. you dont think the suits behind the scenes in this Wilder/AJ saga noticed that? I want the fight THIS year. but I understand it's most likely taking place late 2019.
