We can't because there's no video. He was fighting some bum on the untelevised portion of the Devon Alexander-Marcos Maidana fight.
Even if you want to argue it's not a fair comparison because Wilder was more active as a developing prospect, let's look at where he was after four and a half years after turning professional:
Americans have been so devoid of any level of success in the heavyweight division in recent years that you're currently salivating over a guy who finally fought his first top five contender after a decade as a pro, after three years of a fraudulent championship reign.
That he was fighting nothing but C-level fighters at that time and had absolutely no intention to step up in class anytime soon and was nowhere near fighting for any titles.
But the heavyweight division has been ghost town for like 25 years so what difference does that make?
This is such f.uck boy logic
Fighters develop and get to the top for different and various reasons.
Who was Manny PAC beating in his 21st fight compared to Mayweather
It’s not what you’ve done it’s where your at
And right now AJ / Wilder are the clear #1 HW in the world and between them have all the straps
So they should fight soon. That’s all that matters
Tbh, if Audley Harrison is willing to face you. The risk vs reward argument with Wilder is moot. Lots of better opponents would have got in with Wilder. Audley the pacifist got in there. Self preservation is his middle name.
Don't see what the point in excuses are really. They didn't think he was particularly good at one time but with 19 fights and 19 training camps more than AJ he is where he is. Arguably the best heavyweight in the world.
Arguable enough to have the vitriol aimed toward Joshua from that side of the pond.
Joshua paid Martin 6 million pounds for his belt. An absurd figure.
On the other hand, Wilder himself has never had that big of pay day.
That's called buying a belt.
He paid him $5million for a fight. Many said AJ could walk into a banana skin, however I’ll let that slide for the sake of this conversation.
What did Wilder do more than AJ to deserve a shot at a belt?
It can get you better opponents than the likes of Gerald Washington, Chris Arreola and Artur Szpilka.
How?
We've already established that Wilder is the right kind of dangerous and the wrong kind of money maker.
What did Ortiz make against him? Upper six figures?
Why take that pay day to fight a 6'7" bomb thrower when you can probably make more to put yourself at less risk?
Agreed but that can only get you a belt. It can't get you big fights and it can't get you the majority of the belts especially when Joshua is out there buying up the rest of them.

Let's remind ourselves that Joshua is the unified champ (and deserves respect for that); however, there is one other champion in the division: Wilder. From here on out, any fight Joshua takes that does not involve Wilder is ducking. Wilder has called him out multiple times. Either fight to become undisputed (like Crawford did) or vacate (like Canelo) if you're not ready, it's simple.
No, but they can manipulate the bogus ABC rankings system without having to fight anyone of note and then get a weak champion, which is what they did and what most promoters in general do.

Could Wilder's team have paid the equivalent of $8 million for Charles Martin's belt?
Almost 4x what Wilder has made in his biggest fight?
The answer is no. It's the business of the game.

Wilder's always had important and influential people backing him, from Al Haymon to Golden Boy. He wasn't fighting on untelevised cards because no one wanted to fight him; he was fighting there because his team had very little belief in him at that stage and no television executives were prepared to televise that dreck.
And again, Wilder won his belt from a guy who had to beat Chris Arreola for it. He got the easiest route to a title and fought a very weak title holder for it.

Joshua buying belt? :lol1: What the hell did Wilder do to "work his way up from nothing" and get a shot at the WBC? :lol1: He beat absolutely nobody.
Don't forget Wilder was in the Olympics also.

That's BS...That's exactly what they did, took it slow. Wilder was raw and working on his skills. He was a prospect and his handlers was in no hurry to step up in class back then, that's why he was fighting 8 round fights against safe opponents for a long time. Wilder was definitely not ready to step up back then.
Anyways, the fight should happen now so who really cares about the past.
Promoters who "take it slow" with prospects still get them on television and into the public consciousness.
They don't have them on non-televised undercards 21 fights into their career.
He was dangerous, wild and not a money fight.
Therefore, who do you think would step in with him?
Any excuse will do as long as Joshua doesn’t actually have to fight Wilder.
Where in my post have I made the argument for Joshua not fighting Wilder? He does need to fight him and no later than this year.
Point is, Wilder fans are getting emotional and overzealous over nothing. Barely any time has passed since Wilder first started kicking up a fuss about fighting Joshua, yet these lot would have you believe he'd been waiting in the wings for years the way they went on.
Wilder was an obscure bronze medalist from a non-traditional fighting state who was fighting on non-televised undercards into his late 20s.
He signed to fight Povetkin, he failed a drug test.
He signed to fight Ortiz the first time, he failed a drug test.
He's never gotten any breaks and certainly isn't flush with cash to buy belts like Joshua.
One of silliest things people do on this board is talk resumes when boxing is a sport where ducking happens quite often.
You can only fight those who will get in the ring with you.

So what you're saying is that Wilder has worked his way up from nothing and has earned everything he's got, the hard way.
Joshua has lived a charmed boxing life. Buying belts and avoiding Wilder because of his and Hearn's money bags.
I fail to see how this is a criticism of Wilder.

I don’t like Wilder, that said, AJ needs to fight him now!
Stop the silliness and get them in a ring.
This “marinating” S h it is why boxing is dying.
AJ, stop looking afraid like a f a g with aids and KO this Windmill POS.

Y'all mother fuçkers and your fuçking excuses really get me. Who fuçking cares who makes more, who has more PPV, who was fighting who in their 17.544 fight.
Are they fighting next?
He didn't work his way up from anything. He got fed terrible opponent after terrible opponent, picked up a belt from a weak champion (just like Joshua) and subsequently defended it against unranked opposition for the next three years.
