Genetics combined with strong PED stacks combined with garbage opposition where he doesn't need to save the Gas for 12 rounds. Just trying to tear the head off
Look at Tommy Hearns. Wilder has a similar frame that Tommy had at 154. He just whips that right hand with so much momentum behind it.
He's no where near the skills of Hearns, but I get your point and agree. He may or may not prove to be the best in the division....but boy can he crack, and it's fun to watch a guy with so many fundamental flaws that can level any fighter in the world at any moment.
Why is this??
1. Leverage due to long arms
2. Speed in his punches due to his low weight
3. Strong minded aggressiveness
He has more leverage than other top HW with a 83 inches wingspan.
Joshua 82; Wlad 81....
I can only think of Fury having longer arms.
But Fury uses his size to fight tall, not to generate power.
Lenght give you leverage and superior speed, power at the end of your punches.
Kovalev is a good exemple at 175, dude has monkey arms and generate a lot of power at the end of his punches.
Props to them hey know how to uses their reach, it's not a gift, their mastered it.
because he's fighting 38 year old men that look like this...

He's not that small. He's like Lebron James sized. Except he can't dribble, shoot, or box.
Yeah but Wilder isn't stiff and he isn't a coward. He wants big fights and nobody is questioning whether he wants big fights. Now AJ's stiff ass on the other hand, can't box, no inside game and no balance. All he does is hold his hands up decent, throws a decent left hook and goes down when hit hard. The bully won't last. Now you might wonder why I said this. The reason is because I could lol.
He hits with great speed and the speed of the blow has a lot to do with how hard it is. A rock going 50 mph hits much harder than that same rock going 30 mph. He really isn't that light in weight and usually weighs 224 pounds. That is more than Liston, Tyson or Foreman weighed when they won the tittle and we all know they hit with great power. Most heavyweights that outweigh him are fat and Wilder is all bone and muscle with no fat.People talk about his skinny legs but he has massive powerful arms, chest and shoulders. His big upper body and fast punches is where his power comes from. Sometimes he throws wild wide sloppy punches but other times he throws a lightning fast, arrow straight right hand with his weight behind it and it's a thing of beauty. It's a deadly punch as Ortiz and Stiverne found out.
Why is this??
It all depends on how you define small.
I think wilder is HUGE. He has massive shouldeers is 6'7 and has an NBA type wing span. He can generate incredible amounts of momentum with that frame.
He's not small AT ALLLLLLL maaaaayyyn
