JOSEPH PARKER's power is at its highest level ever ahead of his blockbuster bout against Anthony Joshua this weekend. That's according to the WBO champion's main sparring partner Malik Scott, who reckons Parker's elbow is now fully fit and ready to fire against Joshua in Cardiff. Click Here To Read More]
I hope Parker is better than he was in the Hughie fight. And I hope his confidence is truly up in the stratosphere so high he takes some big chances. All the more chance we see him stretched out KO'd on the canvas. I'm sure Joshua is ready, and it sounds like Parker is as well. So IOW, no excuses... we should in all likelihood see the best version of both fighters. BOMBS AWAY, KIDS!!!!
LOL
How does Malik Scott know that he's upgraded to 120%??? Is there some machine that links up to someone and gives a health percent increase?? Who's to say Parker is only at 78 or 88%?? I'll come up with my own percentage come fight night :)
I think Team Parker are actually being genuine with this statement. Why would they hang themselves out to dry by saying the power is better than ever then fall flat on their face in front of the watching world. Put it this way, his power better be improved or he isn't budging Joshua from what I've seen of his recent fights. I do however think Parker has the mobility, hand speed, angles etc to trouble AJ and make it close in parts
I always take these "after surgery my power level has increased massively!" kind of headlines with a grain of salt. Most of the time the surgery either seems to make no difference or the injured body part breaks down in the ring early in the fight eg: David Haye
There's two possibilities for why Parker's team deliberately left this surgery business media release until a week before the fight:
1. They're wanting to make the fight seem as credible/dangerous as possible for the point of view of the fans, so that more PPVs get sold. This is because there is a significant portion of the media and fans who don't think this is a credible fight.
2. They're trying to throw get AJ to change his game plan or get inside his head a little.
I don't think either is particularly relevant to the fight or is a successful idea, but hey, you can't fault them for trying. They're hyping the fight as much as possible, as they should. This will easily be their biggest pay day.
With all that said, Parker does have a realistic shot, in my opinion. It is a credible fight.
Agreed I do think Parker is a difficult fight, and not a gimmie as some people are expecting.
