Luis Ortiz

ortiz is, prob at worst, a top 4 HW ...hes quality....people are tearing him down out of hate for wilder.....

Was rewatching the Wilder fight, and I am hoping that Ortiz will still have some left in the tank to gives a few more good matches. You can see his ring iq is high for a heavy, he gave a few different looks at certain point of the fight. I also loved the way he would get on his toes and gives us a reminicisent Ali impression, circling and extending his jab to reach his opponent. I caught myself smiling every time he tried that. Ortiz is a quality fighter, he’s certainly the most skilled HW in the game atm. However, he’s nearly 40, doesn’t draw and even at his age is still a very dangerous fight for anyone in the division. So I can’t see anyone really wanting fight Luis Ortiz, especially any of the bigger names, he’s unfortunately too high risk and low reward.

I hope he's back in a decent fight. He's old and coming off a KO, maybe this was his last push as a motivated fighter. I hope not though as he's one of the better HW's. He was very close to finishing Wilder, he's a good counter puncher. Some guys might take a pass instead, especially if they have their eyes set on the big prize and don't want any bumps in the road. I'd like to see him and Povetkin fight. True that, I expect Povetkin to beat Price so we ll see what he does after.

He's actually a good HW. Wilder just hit harder and didn't fold. Ortiz would've probably done the same thing Browne that Whyte just did. He would make a good opponent for Whyte or even Miller. yea those would be fun scraps.

Haye is only in for big Money fights, he has nothing to gain by fighting Ortiz. Bellew already expressed the sentiment that he wont fight against giant heavyweights. Price wont win lol. Povetkin is positioned to fight against Joshua. it is difficult to get dudes in the ring against Ortiz, because he is high risk and low reward. Whyte and Miller are also positioned to fight against the beltholders. I dont know whats up with Pulev anymore. The only guys who would and should be interested to fight Ortiz are guys who think he is going to decline rapidly with his advanced age and first knockout loss and are just a notch below the contenders in terms of achievement and reputation. Breazeale, Kownacki, Ruiz Jr., Hughie Fury, Kuzmin should take the challenge. Lol yea Price winning is definitely a long shot, but crazier things have happened. I think if he was to get any kind of title shot, it would be an interim. But hey, if he beats 2 c b level guys in a row, maybe he can earn a title eliminator.

In that night he would probably defeat anyone not named Wilder, that's why no one wanted anything with him before or will in the future Maybe. A couple of years ago, Tyson Fury gave his opinion of the top heavyweights; he said, “That Ortiz is a dangerous ****.” No one wants a real challenge, unless big money is to be had. I give Wilder a lot of credit for taking that fight. He didn’t have to, and he very nearly paid for the move.

im sure he has 3 or 4 good fights left if hes motivated Ortiz turns 39 in a couple of days. On the flip side, he hasn’t taken punishment. I’d say he’s got at least that many in him if, as you say, he stays motivated.

Ortiz at his age, without the benefit of youth drugs, isn’t all that. This version of Ortiz probably gets outworked by Jennings and loses a decision.

He could probably get 1 or 2 fights but no title shots anymore. He couldn't utilized that great opportunity.
