Stylistically this is a 50/50 fight both are big HWs and both have one-punch knockout power. Idk, man this would be a war.
Peak 92' Bowe would steam roll Wilder inside 4 rounds, That Bowe would have given any HW in history a tough night. I would give Wilder an outside chance against an out of shape Bowe who fought Golota but he would still be relying on finding the big shot, probably not too dissimilar to the ortiz fight.
Serious Health Problem ? REALLY ?
You must be talking about the supposed High Blood pressure medication he said he was taking when he tested Dirty ?
Surprised the NYSAC ( one of the strictest in the nation ) let him fight with such a Serious Health Problem. They should be jailed !!!
I got a question for you though ( kinda off topic ) ... What do you think was the cause of Canelos dirty tests ?
Well obviously he was a drug cheat but the fanboy/troll who I'm responding to is obviously not going to want to hear he's iron chinned power punching hero was doping. Even though its the obvious explanation for he's huge drop in form from Jennings to Wilder, I'm saying that they can't have it both ways. He was either cheating or ill. I know what I think. As for Canelo, he went to a Tyson Fury barbecue and tried abit of the boar, then blamed it on Mexican cows didn't he? Lol.
How did Ortiz have a proven chin? Never fought a dangerous puncher. 240lb of muscle. He was fat, even Wilder said that, and he had a serious health problem. Let's not turn him into this superstar. It was a good win for Wilder, but if you think old Ortiz compares with a prime Bowe, you are high my man.

Comparing Amir Khan to a heavyweight is a false equivalence fallacy! Nearly everyone at heavyweight can punch with knock out power. But that's not the case in Amir Khan's weight divisions or any of the other lower weight divisions below heavyweight.
The fact that Ortiz was never down or stopped in his pro boxing career at heavyweight prior to facing Wilder, is a testament to his chin being proven. Since he survived every other heavyweight opponent (who can all punch with knock out power).
Ortiz's chin failed against Wilder because Wilder is the most powerful puncher in history. And also because everyone's chin failed against Wilder's. Therefore, it's not a shame or evidence that Ortiz has a bad chin. That's not even comparable to Mike Tyson who unlike Wilder, has failed to KO / stop many many opponents. Including opponents who were previously stopped or stopped after. This means, someone's chin failing against Wilder isn't as bad as someone's chin failing against a much weaker puncher in Mike Tyson. Since Mike Tyson is practically a feather fist compared to Deontay Wilder!
How can you say Mike Tyson is a puncher but Luis Ortiz isn't? Mike Tyson has failed to stop Tony Tucker. A guy who was brutally stopped by Herbie Hide (a blown up cruiser weight). Tyson also failed to stop James Tillis. A guy with 22 losses and a guy who was stopped 3 times before facing Mike Tyson. But you want to claim Ortiz isn't a puncher because he failed to stop only one opponent in Malik Scott? I can name multiple other opponents that Mike Tyson failed to stop. Including opponents who were stopped prior to facing Mike Tyson.
Luis Ortiz has stopped top quality boxers too. He demolished and stopped Bryant Jennings. Who even Wladimir Klitschko couldn't even stop. Despite landing his best punches for multiple rounds. Ortiz also stopped Tony Thompson just as, if not more impressively than Wladimir Klitschko.
So going by your logic, Deontay Wilder has an absolute iron / granite of a chin. Since he survived against a power puncher in Luis Ortiz by being able to take everything Ortiz dished out for 10 rounds, without even going down once. Thus, Wilder's chin is now at the very least, equal to Mitch Green's. Thus, if Mike Tyson failed to KO / stop Mitch Green, he isn't stopping Deontay Wilder either. That's if we follow your logic!
Deontay Wilder's chin is different now, compared to before. Wilder of now, isn't the same as the Wilder from the Sconiers fight where his body was still growing. David Tua was knocked out in the amateurs but never in the pros. Does that mean he has a weak chin, because he was knocked out once in the amateurs whilst he was practically still a kid? Absolutely not! Most boxing fans acknowledge David Tua as someone who has one of the best chins ever!
Thread over!!!

Anyone who knows anything about boxing, or has actually boxed like myself can tell you not all heavyweights are punchers at all. Some have concussion power, some don't. Some have good chins, some don't. There is no false equivalency in using Khan as an example at all. The example shows that most prospects get through the early stages of their career with their chin untested, be it due to not having faced punchers or due to the skill level opponents not being high enough to actually land flush shots on them, it's pretty simple really. You see, youre still comparing different stages of career for your chin power arguments. It's childish and foolish. You know for a fact that the Tucker who fought Tyson was a much younger, much more on shape less shopworn and less drug ravaged version than the one who fought Hide. You're just ignoring stage of career and level of opposition because you have no logical argument. Ortiz had not proven he's chin because he'd fought nobody who could expose it. Nothing you can say can change this. As for the punching power of Ortiz, although he stopped Jennings it was clearly because he fought an agressive fight unlike Klitschko who often let much smaller and inferior men like Chambers last into the late rounds.Ortiz was clearly not the same when he fought Scott anyway, he couldn't pull the trigger, was slow, and was already probably suffering from health problems. Deontay is a good puncher, but he's best opposition has been stopped by journeymen or have been suffering from illness at the time he stopped them. As for your weak example of Tua, he was stopped as an amateur, weighing 14 stone by a great in Savon.Wilder was dropped in he's 13th fight by a guy who hasn't stopped or dropped any world class fighter. Bad sign. As for Wilder being the greatest puncher in history, since an in shape Stiverne was able to extend him, an other non top ten heavies and old men with high blood pressure have been able to take him late, its just laughable. It's quite amusing how you try to spin a guy hurt by Molina and dropped by Sconier as being durable, and how a guy who gets taken into the 10th by a older fighter with a serious illness as the biggest puncher in history lol.
Amir Khan wasn't knocked down or stopped prior to being knocked out in one round. It doesn't mean he has an iron chin. All decent prospects have a stage in their careers when they havent been stopped or knocked out. So what? When they face a puncher we find out. Ortiz hadn't faced a real puncher at heavyweight until Wilder. Therefore there is no proof he had an iron chin. The ownes is on you to prove it, and you can't. He failed the test when he faced a puncher. Ortiz wasnt a devastating puncher, that's why Malik Scott took him the distance, Scott, who had been stopped by Wilder and Chisora. Also, Ortiz was ill by the time he fought Wilder, he was being treated for high blood pressure. Percentages don't count because if your half way through a career and you havent fought the best yet, or you've faced a lower level of opponent, your percentage will be different to a guy who fought he's whole career, against other top fighters and long past their physical prime. Tyson was a puncher, and Green past the chin test. Green finished he's career never having been knocked down. Ortiz was knocked down by wilder while old and sick it's true. Wilder was knocked down by non puncher Sconier, a poor sign, and hurt by Molina, another poor sign. When he fights a puncher at world class we will find out if he can endure. The signs don't look good for him.

Can't wait for this robotic roided Wladimir Grabschko wannabe getting stretchered out infront of 80 thousand drunken Brits :lol1:
Lmao lol...
Golota was better than Wilder you clown and that was a shot Bowe. Wilder is ****ing garbage.

Embarrassing that people are mentioning Wilder vs guys like Bowe. Stork legs is ****e. He wouldn't be anywhere near a title in Bowe's era. Skill wise it's night and day. A big punch will only get you so far, guys like Bowe would embarrass a skill less clown like Wilder. He was getting outboxed by Szpilka FFS...... Szpilka........
Bowe was getting beaten up and he quit on borderline low shots against C- Golota and you really think he'd stand a chance against Wilder who is putting people out to sleep? :lol1:
Bowe has no heart, no commitment, ducked the best... sounds like that roided up protected Britbong bum.
Bowe is lazy so he would have come fat into Wilder fight, I give Wilder an edge because he's fast and possess great stamina. Wilder obviously doesn't have any boxing skills so if Bowe can get inside of Wilder it's a goodnight for Alabama fraud.
Luis Ortiz was never dropped or stopped in his pro boxing career before fighting Wilder. Ergo, that's enough proof of him having a solid chin. Since in the heavyweight division, pretty much everyone can punch with knock out power.
What are you going to say about Deontay Wilder's chin then? Since he fought Luis Ortiz, who is a renown knock-out artist with a 75%+ knock out record. And since Wilder survived against this knock out artist that is Luis Ortiz without even going down, despite taking some hard punches?
The main question is, how do we know how good Mitch Green's chin is COMPARED to Luis Ortiz? Since Green never fought a puncher like Deontay Wilder who has stopped every opponent he has faced in his career and has a 95%+ KO record? And Mike Tyson isn't comparable to Deontay Wilder. Since his KO record is nowhere close to Wilder's.

I'm getting the point alright. You have a problem with compression. I don't have to prove Ortiz didn't have a great chin, you have to prove he did, since that was the claim, that Ortiz had an "iron" chin. Since he fought nobody comparable to Mike Tyson, who's knockout record, percentage, heavyweight championship fights and highlight reel proves he's a puncher, Ortiz can't claim to have passed the test Green did.Not every heavy punches the same, and some of the best punchers have been under 220 BTW.Yes other fighters have fought bums but only two of Wilders opponents were vaguely top ten, one had been stopped by a nobody and one was suffering from an illness. At the point Audley Harrison was entering round one against Sprott, he'd never been dropped either. Has he got an Iron chin? No, of course not, level of opposition matters, and Deontays is very low, but Ortiz was also very low. Molina taking Deontay late proves he's not a superman. You saw what AJ did to the same guy right?

absolutely not, 40 year old wlad was good for 10 rounders max., and that pushing it. He was gasping like a fish as early as round 9.
young wlad was fully fit. he'd simply outgass a 40 year wlad and then club him out, that was one of his standard way of picking up wins. The boots on the other foot now for him.
Yeah, 30 year old Wlad is most athletic HW of all time imo
Or maybe Mike Tyson doesn't hit anywhere near as hard as Deontay Wilder. Hence why he couldn't KO an opponent who was never KO'ed previously like Mitch Green whilst Deontay Wilder hits significantly harder, hence why he was able to KO an opponent never KO'ed before in Luis Ortiz?
Are you getting the point now?
What do you think would happen if Deontay Wilder faced the same bums and nobodies like Mitch Green that Mike Tyson faced? People complain and slate Deontay Wilder heavily for fighting bums and nobodies but at least he knocks all of them out, unlike the feather fisted / weak punching Mike Tyson who landed everything but the kitchen sink on the bum that is Mitch Green but they bounced off like nothing, making it seem like Mike Tyson had the punch power of a little girl.
In the heavyweight division, if you've never even been dropped before, isn't that a sign of a strong chin? Considering pretty much every heavyweight hits hard that weighs above 220 pounds?
