Love GGG, hate Nelo...but you dont know how to score rounds. Terrible scorecard! I guess the majority of boxing fans and experts don’t know how to score fights either because most had GGG winning. It’s easy to criticize post your own round by round card and explain every round as I have done. So we can all have a good laugh.

I felt Canelo won 2 of the first 3, 2 of the last 3 and lost everything in between (4-9). 116-112 GGG. I can see 117-111 and I can see 115-113 as I felt there were two or three close rounds. 114-114 you'd have to have scored everything for Canelo giving him every conceivable doubt and have gotten a round wrong. Exactly how I saw it. Canelo was not up 3-0 after three rounds nor did he sweep all three at the end. You give him all 6 rounds it is because you want to.

I know this has been done already but I’ll add my opinion. Round 1: GGG on the hunt chasing Alvarez. Head hunting. Canelo backing away and trying to counter. Mixing in some good body punches. GGG landed the majority of punches. 10-9 GGG Round 2: Alvarez countered well and even stood in the center of the ring and became the aggressor for periods. He landed some nice hooks to the body with both hands. GGG threw mostly jabs and blocked some fire. Trying to pin down Canelo but couldn’t. Canelo 10-9 Round 3: Canelo establishes some good bodywork again in this round. GGG head hunting too much. Getting countered to the body but managed to block the stuff upstairs. Alvarez moving his feet well. Even Abel Sanchez tells Gennady in the corner that he gave that one away. Canelo 10 -9 Round 4: GGG woke up went after Canelo and grabbed control. Immediately tripling and doubling on the jab. Even put in some bodywork. When he goes to the body it opens everything up. Alvarez looks a little tired moves his feet and avoids trouble well. Blocked the biggest shots. GGG 10-9 Round 5: Biggest punch of the round and most punches landed were by GGG. But I was impressed by Canelo. He was able to absorb a big right hand and fight his way out of trouble. He shook his head at GGG and bluffed him into not attacking. GGG 10-9 Round 6 Canelo looks gassed this round. Barely threw punches. GGG is letting the jab go. Trying to just touch and pin Alvarez down. Canelo looking like a slick fighter. But getting outworked. GGG 10-9 Round 7: GGG is the aggressor chasing Canelo almost the entire round. He has to jog to catch up to him. Best punch all night upstairs Canelo took it well. Canelo’s best punch was a left body punch that stopped GGG momentarily from coming forward. GGG 10-9 Round 8: Canelo tried in the beginning of the round to test GGG. But to no success. The story was GGG chasing Canelo this round like A fiend. Landing punches but couldn’t land many power punches. Canelo doing everything he can to get away. GGG 10-9 Round 9: GGG hit Canelo with a good punch. Canelo gets on his bike. Canelo manages to land a good shot while GGG is attacking to no effect. GGG continues to attack while piling up the points Canelo in survival mode not trying to engage. GGG 10-9 Round 10: Canelo’s corner tells him before the round he needs to win the next three rounds outright. He stands his ground early on exchanging but GGG is not phased. GGG is out working him and pushing him back. Canelo is searching for that one power punch. That one answer that can save him. He’s getting bullied and pushed around despite being the more muscular looking fighter. He is clinching now and looking to get away. GGG smells blood. GGG 10-9 Round 11: Pretty close round. Canelo countered and tried to fight back. GGG again was the aggressor. GGG 10-9 Round 12: I’ll give the last round to Canelo. GGG could never land a punctuation mark on the round. Canelo landed a big shot in the beginning then a nice combo that GGG walked through. GGG pressing Canelo clinching and countering. Canelo landed the cleaner harder punches. Canelo 10-9 I got GGG winning the fight wide winning 9 to 3 rounds. 117 to 111. Should have been an easy decision. What a robbery. Love GGG, hate Nelo...but you dont know how to score rounds. I don't get why they let women judge prize fights when fighting is not their nature and they've never fought. There's a woman who got involved in the local LBC here and she's flat out *****ing horrible. I can't believe they let her judge and referee fights. It's embarrassing. Julie Lederman has turned in some questionable cards too. I don't get it myself. But that's the way of the world now. Look at sports across the board...football, basketball, hockey, they have to be a part of every analyst booth now. Another attempt at the leftards in the networks who want to emasculate men's sports, but that's another thread entirely. To be honest, I don't know how a lot of these old farts get their jobs as judges. Look at Dave Moretti and Bert Clements, if ever there was an either corrupt or incompetent judge, it's these two geriatrics.

You probably give Canelo rounds 1 and 11, other than that I'm not seeing much you could change. 7-5 would be giving Canelo every close round, imo I had it 8-4. Canelo won at most two rounds decisively. Basically to give Canelo a draw you had to give him every toss up round. As I've said if you are doing that as a judge you have a bias.

I scored it 8-4 but I did give Canelo a sympathy round but can't remember which one. It was clearly a robbery to me. Byrd should have been banned for her scorecard. That was blatantly a bought off card.

It almost exclusively the people who hate GGG who say they had it a draw. Anyone who's not biased knows who won the fight. I scored it 8-4 on fight night and I wont bother watching again because the fix was in with Byrd from the get go. Even the worse posters on this forum couldn't find 10 rounds to give their guy yet a so called professional judge did. Canelo has a judge in pocket every fight, just look at his scorecards from the Trout, Lara, Cotto, and GGG fights. Cards filled out in the car on the way to the arena.

TS is biased as fuuuck Anyone that doesn’t have gggs nuts in there mouth know that fight was close, a 1-2 point fight either way. so 8 rounds is fine, but TS giving G 9 rounds is biased?

Canelo had better accuracy throughout the fight and demonstrated much better defense. At the end of the fight Golovkin was bruised up. Canelo? Hardly touched. Yet these MarGGGarito fans wanna run their mouth about jabs and thonGGGs. Not impressed :bottle::sad6: so if you throw 2 punches at someone and land 1 but they throw 5 and land 2 you won? better accuracy! you shout as everyone watching looks at you puzzled. if this were baseball you would be some stat nerd trying to say how swinging and missing on the first 2 pitches and then hitting a home run is worse than singling on the first pitch. better accuracy! meanwhile people actually keeping score have it 1-0

although it was 5/6.am and i was 2 blunts and about 4 coffees deep i remember clearly i had it 8-4 golovkin, it really isnt a difficult fight to score.

Yea so was every boxer Floyd fought what’s the difference oh that’s right a Mexican can’t run and counter . He has to stand face first and Fight like a tough man contestant to win Of course a Mexican fighter can use movement. But at the end of the fight he has to have outscored his opponent and be in command of the ring. Canelo did neither of those.

It is interesting because I had it 116-112 for Canelo... He wins Rounds 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, and 12. And then also wins 5 and 6. Still stunned how so many people can be duped into thinking throwing punches (and missing) is "good work" so long as you are moving forward? Well I guess millions of people did/do support Donald Trump and Robert Duterte. Crazy world How did Canelo win round one when GGG landed more? How could he have won round round five while running for his life and GGG landed the hardest punches? How did he win round six in full evade mode with barely any offense? GGG pushes Alvarez around in rounds 10 and 11 while Alvarez avoided fighting for much of the time. You’re delusional Clenelo can’t win a fight by running.
