The experts, after looking into the matter and realizing there is an issue, have decided that he has a valid claim that this was not done maliciously. And your question has been answered by WADA. There is no threshold but there is a valid reason that this was probably not done purposely. They caught it early on, said his story is supported by the amount they found, and this is his warning that he has to avoid meat from Mexico the rest of the way. It's not rocket science. See, the problem with this line of thinking is ignoring the fact that the levels he tested for, whether it, "falls in line" with contaminated meat--- it also falls in line for an individual doing a Clenbuterol cycle. I'll post the medical study showing this if you want. The other problem with Clenbuterol, is that is has a short half-life, about 36 hours. It takes around 6 hours for it to reach the maximum levels in the plasma. There is literally no reason not to cycle clenbuterol off-season if you're a Mexican boxer. You can use the, "contaminated" meat excuse, despite the fact that Canelo's diets during the Chavez Jr. and Liam Smith fights indicate he only eats lean cuts of chicken/fish, and not beef, which he even stated himself. Of course, when your fight is estimated to generate over $50 million, it's easy to see why a little hush money and power to influence things behind scenes wouldn't go your way. So how do you determine Canelo is a cheat vs. not a cheat, if he get's excused from having Clen detected in his system? There's no way to travel back in time, and if Canelo was cycling Clen when he first took the test on Feb 17., it would make plenty of sense that he would stop right away after that. I would be surprised if any drug cheat would keep using a banned substance even after it was detected once before. There is nothing VADA can do at this point, if the "contaminated meat" excuse gets a pass.
