Mairis Briedis fought a 240 pound heavyweight and knocked him out unconscious. I'm pretty confident Usyk can beat 240+ pound heavyweights too. And the reason why he fights at 200 pounds right now is because it's a better weight division with a historical tournament currently ongoing.
Luis Ortiz is far too slow to catch Usyk anyway.
it's spaw vs spaw doe. So it would be not like a situation when Us has all the advantages of the stance against less mobile orthodox fighter.
He couldn't ko him due to Ortiz weight and 'size'. Yet he could beat him, I think, by points, but barely.
Usyk does not carry enough power. Further, he likes to trade a lot which may be his undoing against the heavyweight. His biggest advantages are his technique and speed. These really stand out but this trading and staying in the pockets will be very dangerous when guys are carrying power that can change the course of a fight.
Lol... this is the same Usyk that struggled to a decision against Breidis. I love how a cruiserweight will beat him up - keep the dream going. I look forward to Usyk coming up to the heavyweight if he can win against Gassiev. Then, y'all will see the difference between the two divisions. He better not lose to Gassiev.
It'd be a repeat of the Glowacki fight for Usyk. He'd win almost every round and either decision Ortiz, or stop him in the championship rounds. Ortiz's hand and foot speed is too slow for him to land too many meaningful punches on Usyk.
He'd decision him easily because of his skill, speed and stamina. I'd say he likely stops Ortiz on his feet towards the later rounds.
Ortiz is slow and has no stamina at all.
Usyk would run him ragged for 6/7 rounds then overwhelm him with an avalanche of punches when he was too tired to do anything about it.
