DEONTAY WILDER says Anthony Joshua is running scared of a mega-money shot at his WBC heavyweight title. The big-punching American moved to 40-0 by stopping the previously undefeated Luis Ortiz in the 10th round of their classic in Brooklyn on Saturday night. Wilder has now successfully defended his WBC strap seven times. Wilder has now successfully defended his WBC strap seven times. Click Here To Read More]
My common sense says Joshua will dismantle Wilder, but I have a feeling Wilder is going to Rocky Balboa this sh*t and somehow land that one punch hurting Joshua and finish him off.
I guess you didn't see the corrupted scoring or why the doctor stayed in after the round to give extra time for WILDER to recover...the fight was stacked against Ortiz. It was all set for Wilder to win. ..and I guess you just watched the highlights. The earlier rounds were toss ups because they were both cautious, until the 5th when Ortiz got caught with a clean right and got ****load time to recover himself. The ref looked like he didn't know wtf he was doing, not to mention he started counting late then when Ortiz got back up the ref still gave him more time recover then signaled the time to start back. Ultimately letting Ortiz hear that glorious bell ring. Karma's a *****. Ortiz should've been counted out waay earlier.
Lol everyone on here act like the 5th round never happened and Ortiz didn't get a s***load of time to recover himself. Also at the beginning of 8th round Wilder was ready to start back fighting but IMO the ref wanted to see if he was concussed. The ref probably was thinking about stopping the fight. Has happened before..its boxing.
Wilders timing, headmovement, blocking(not the body), reflexes and countering especially off a southpaw was effective.Yall gotta admit that. Sure awkward af but he's tall and lanky so everything looks funny.
Imagine what he would've done to Ortiz if he was orthodox. This fight convinced me that AJ has a storm coming and its looking scary. No way Anthony beats that Luis Ortiz that night. Hell he even ducked him.
Maybe you didn't see Joshua's last fight. He looked like crap against a sub mediocre opponent. Funny how people talk about Ortiz now. He was only undefeated with 22 KOs before this fight, with everybody ducking him. I have no doubt that he would given AJ all he could handle. I have yet now to see Joshua fight any real opponent other than the seriously diminished Klitchko. Let's see if AJ can get by Parker.
Joshua & Klitschko sold 80,000 tickets, but only 8 million pounds (11 million dollars) was paid for those tickets.
Look at what fights in Vegas have done though:
http://boxing.nv.gov/results/Top_Boxing_Gates/ Ok I stand corrected actually. I guess Vegas is where the money may well be at.
I would actually think that after that fight, AJ would be more confident taking on the bomber.
Agree... He is mow more confident not just on taking on the bomber but knocking him out too
DiBella and Haymon desperate to cash out this hype job asap. Of course they want Vegas as a venue where real boxing fans will be priced out and corruption will fester.
PBC and Al Haymon killing boxing. Creating hype jobs and suckering fans to get behind athletes who only fight hand picked bums or names washed up. Haymon using the Mayweather blueprint but it won't work. The smart people with the real money aren't buying into the con.
You sound dumb af, if Wilder was a hype job wouldn’t he had lost on Saturday to Ortiz.... if Wilder was a hype job, wouldn’t AJ be demanding the fight happens as quick as possible like they did with Charles Martin.... just shut up...
Wilder is too obsessed with Joshua.
There are equally bigger fights like fighting Fury, Povetkin or Whyte.
If he thinks Joshua is running scared he should direct his focus on other opponents.
I believe Wilder vs Whyte in UK will sell very well.
Nah, cut the B.S. out, we fans want D.Wilder/Joshua.

What about Joshua Wilder? Their fight would sell well too lol...
This^^^^. Contrary to what Wilder feels, I think after seeing his performance against Ortiz is the exact reason AJ or even Parker would want to lace up the gloves against him.
It was a good fight & I had D.Wilder winning the 1st half of the fight & Ortiz the 2nd half of the fight then D.Wilder up by one before the K.O.
Doesn't want what? A bore fest? This fight was the biggest rubbish, most of the fight people were booing because nothing was happening, wilder looked very ill, like he was battling AIDS in the late stage..no skills nothing what so ever...ortiz is about 50 years old and he nearly finished him...just look at ortiz's body..he looks like he retired 15 years ago...I said it before the fight that wilder would win but after watching that boring circus now I'd bet my house and everything I owe that Joshua would have an easy time with him.
You won’t bet **** Joshua dick blower. You’re just a lot of armchair talk and a badge. You won’t bet **** if the fight is made lmao. Joshua’s stiff ass needed the ref to stop the Takam fight. Parker is going to beat his ***** ass. .
You would’ve thought Wilder put on a boxing clinic the way he’s talking but in reality he got outboxed for most of the night and bailed himself out with his power.
Damn you suk at scoring fights....... D.Wilder was winning the fight before the K.O.
