Hopefully mate. Really looking forward to the fight
Respect to you, bro. A true boxing fan should want to see the fight. While we have preferences for who we want to win, a good fight goes a long way. Boxing will continue after all these guys retire.
I don't know how anyone can say that definitively. AJ was dropped hard by Klitschko and buzzed for a couple more rounds. Yet he came back and got the stoppage.
Ortiz fought a really smart fight where he was looking for counters all night. Nothing came easy for Wilder. The fact that Wilder was able to stay focused, come back from being hurt, and get the stoppage says a lot about him as a fighter.
We've seen Joshua showed the same resilience and focus. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to do the same thing against game Ortiz.
Ifs and buts. Wilder was hurt by exactly that punch vs Molina. A lazy jab that was countered with the left hook, and Wilder didnt defend it because his non punching hand was all over the place.
Ok, bro. AJ-Wilder hopefully happens. Let's talk then.
Breazeale only threw one punch. If he had followed with a right hand, AJ would have been in trouble. That's my point with your gif. AJ did not completely avoid the punch. Further, every boxer gets punched. It is part of the sport.
I don't think Wilder drops his hands during every punch. Now, is his left hand low most times? Yes, he needs to improve that. Lastly, Wilder is not Takam.

Wilder is unorganised all the time. He just goes bat **** mental when he has someone hurt. Yeah he can throw a nice punch here and there, and he sets up the right well with his lead, but dont ignore the fact he drops his hands during every punch. Dont ignore how he throws himself off balance.
Aj slipped Breazeales jab so i dont know what you are seeing there. And that right hook definitely hurt Wilder. Ortiz saw it and capitalised with a huge left that put him on queer street. The point was more about the type of punch it was. Catch with one hand, shoot with the other. Opposite side counter. Very similar to how Joshua dropped Takam.

look at your own 2nd fit of AJ-Breazeale. AJ's hand was down enough for Breazeale to get through. It is not always easy to keep your hands up when throwing punches. Wilder is not the only one guilty of that. AJ does that too.
Also, Wilder is unorganized when he thinks the opponent is hurt. He is usually more calculated and deliberate while looking for the opening. His IQ is a whole lot better than you give him credit for. You will see it when he drops AJ.
One more thing: It was not the right hand that messed Wilder up against Ortiz. It was the left hand he did not see coming which followed the right.

Wilder cant do the basics right in exchanges. Tight short shots > winging power punches. Defensive responsibility > Wild unorganised chaos.
Keep ya damn hands up, Deontay!

AJ will be an idiot to start exchanging against Wilder. He wont survive. His best bet is to fake his jab and hope Wilder overextends so he can catch him. AJ cannot fight on the backfoot so he will come forward which will again be his downfall.

AJ was in a worse state in rounds 5 and 6 against Wlad than Wilder.
Wilder lacks offensive variety, Joshua is way more diverse in his punch arsenal and surely would have done more damage to Ortiz in the first 4 rounds.
The best puncher ever? What? You're crazy. C R A Z Y
Say what you want about Wilder, he hits harder than WK and AJ.
Everyone with an eye knows that. Also, Wilder's chin is not as bad as it was made. Tony Bellew's coach said he saw Wilder sparring Haye and that the former took some licks from Haye and did not go down. Guess we saw the same in the Ortiz fight now.
I think that is exactly what he will do, try to take the centre ring, pressure on the edge of Wilders range, look to make Wilder overextend and then get to work up close. Wilder is so explosive that it is definitely a dangerous tactic though.
If it comes to exchanging AJ is going to wreck Wilder imo. Though many disagree with me.
Hopefully we find out soon :boxing:

Harder than AJ for sure. Maybe even harder than that version of Wlad.
Yeah I stand by that statement.
Theres a thread online of a sparring partner from the 90s who sparred the likes of Prime Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, old George Foreman, David Tua and many more. He said that Wlad would regularly switch his lights out and hurt him to the point he would forget whole rounds. He said that Wlad was the hardest puncher he fought. And thats a hell of a list to be comparing to. The guy 240lbs, fast as hell and had excellent technique. In terms of one shot power, he is the biggest (again, not best) puncher ever.
Agreed, but I'd be very surprised if AJ tried to take centre ring if they ever fight. I think he's very aware of his limitations in defence/chin.

Whats one fight compared to a whole career?
Wlad is the biggest puncher ever imo. Not the best puncher, but the biggest. He caught Joshua flush with a punch he put everything into, his famous right hand. Even caught him with a leaping left on the way down for good measure. AJ dusted himself off, defended himself brilliantly, took more than a few bombs over the next couple rounds, then went on to knock Wlad out.
But nah, Ortiz, who has precisely one decent level ko, is comparable.
What a world we live in.

Wilder isnt in the same stratosphere of ring general as Wlad is.
Very different.

100%. AJ can press forward and shoot some straight shots looking to end it early but he's scared of power. He was so timid and nervous against Klit to start, he happily gave the centre of the ring for most of the fight.
As soon as Wilder moves a bit and loops some shots, he's out of there.

Ortiz was a tough fight for Wilder than AJ will be imo.
Ortiz is far more experienced and had the ability to parry Wilders jab from the southpaw stance and take his right hand away for most part. He didn't allow him to get comfortable with the jab so he wasn't comfortable throwing the right hand as he didn't have his distance.
His positioning and defense is better and he has that counter punching ability with both hands. He's not a bog standard southpaw that just probes and prods to set up the left, he has an educated right hand.
AJ is more robotic and basic, there isn't a great deal to figure out he has no head movement which is a huge no against Wilder a guy who arches that right hand. He can't miss with it and doesn't have to worry about being made to pay like he did vs Ortiz who would look to counter over the top with the left.
He's a sitting duck for that right hand.
AJ is more polished than Wilder but he's made to order I feel. He just hasn't the craft or experience to neutralise that right hand and if you can't take that right hand away you're in the sh1t.

Ortiz sure had the power to drop and stop Jennings. Klitschko didn't have the power to do so.
