Did anyone else notice that?
Ref and dr could have checked wilder in his corner.
They bought him more time to recover from being hurt .
I couldnt wait for the next round to start and when that happened paulie even said something.
Something was fishy.
This was like a spit mouthpiece by the promotion.
this is like that theory that says buster douglass was down for 20 seconds vs tyson.
:bottle:
He was down for 14-15 seconds, and that's not a theory, have you seen the footage?
Wilder still stinks, I was not at all impressed with his performance against Ortiz. Just shows more that he isn't an elite fighter. Ortiz is basically a modern Sam Peter with less stamina. He can really hit hard but he runs out of gas too quickly. All of Tysons opponents during his reign were much better.

Did you watch any replays of the actual events and count.
The dr literally allowed hi. To walk out just call him back . If it is standard practice. Why wasnt ortiz checked later? Its one sided.

If it's standard practice in New York then I can't complain.
Lets just call timeouts evertime someone gets hurt before a round is over.
Let him have his minute then call timeout after
Thats weak.

Go back watch and count.
Same with wilder vs ortiz.
The fight was good and the bell rung. Wilder got to rest and then boom and additional timeout to allow him to recover. When officials could have done that between rounds
Honestly I don't think it made a big difference. Ortiz could've put Wilder away in that round but he didn't have the energy to follow up. He punched himself out the round before.
And thats You're opinion . You believe extra time didnt help him recover and he was gonna win anyway.
My whole point is , why didnt ref and doc check him in his corner if they were so concerned .
Paulie knew something was up .
Standard in NYC since the Mago fight. He clearly doesn't watch many fights or else he'd know this.
The TS is just one of these guys that makes a thread like this whenever an American, especially a black American, wins a fight.
He always finds something fishy, etc.
Just wish the site didn't need clicks because they could do away with repetitive garbage like this.
Now Wilder is acting like he was never hurt lmao
They made sure they gave him an 18 second break after. 1 minute break in between rounds .
This is fishy business .
Wilder gotfucked up the previous round. Makes sense they checked him out.
yeah I heard paulie.
Its a shame , it was completely obvious, boxing fans wanna see the fight action continue and
The people running the event helped buy time.
Made no sense not to check him in his corner.

Yeap!
Even one of the commentators (Paulie?) said it was against the rules to do that and they where buying him time
Wilder got fucked up the previous round. Makes sense they checked him out.
They had 1 minute to do that .
Ive seen doctors and refs go into corners and check . Why wait one minute to give him an extra 18 seconds.
This is like having 6 seconds left on the clock after a 13 yd catch over the middle . Wr gets tackled at the 23 yd line and the refs stop the clock and allow the offense to huddle up and run a play .
Its bs , how you gonna give them extra time like that.
Its unfortunate that the officials messed up a good fight. Why didnt they do that for ortiz after he was knocked down ?
Something is fishy.
Well, there's always an A-side advantage, i don't think that can be ignored.
If the roles were reversed in the 7th round and Ortiz was still on his feet but getting beaten around the ring, do you think the ref jumps in? I'd say its a big possibility. Same as the ref jumping in to stop the AJ v Takam fight for very little reason, if AJ was on the end of that (missed) flurry, would the ref stop AJ? no chance.
The A-side these days will always be given a chance to stay in the fight, or assistance getting the opponent out of there.
It was blatant cheating. And since when was it standard to check if the ring was wet? Was that part of the new procedure too?
Here u are crying again in bitterness. Crrrrrrry foooooooorr meeeeeee. I need more tears and complaining...
It happens a lot in the fights in NYC due to the rules, so it's unfair saying it was done solely to help Wilder.
That said, i find it very annoying in general. The doctor should have a look between rounds, it only takes about 10 seconds. It really disrupts the flow of the fights.

Agreed. We were typing our posts at the same time. Lol
Nothing fishy, as others have stated. But on a general note, the doctor ought to make his check during the one-minute break, not after. A few extra seconds can mean a lot when your head is spinning. I don’t know if it changed the course of this particular fight, but it can definitely be a game-changer.

Dr and ref bought wilder 18 extra seconds of recovery time with a BS timeout | BoxingScene Community
