Wilder knocked Ortiz down in the fifth and twice in the final round but Ortiz made him work for the victory at Barclays Center arena in New York. Wilder barely survived the seventh after Ortiz surprised him with a right hook and left hand combination and followed it up with a barrage of his own. Click Here To Read More]
Yeah man. Chin doesn't matter in HW division though. All can end in one punch. And this is the most 50-50 fight in world boxing ever.
You are correct - all it takes is one punch. But, please do not underestimate the importance of a chin. Wilder got hit over 20 times by Ortiz in the last 40+ seconds and survived. If he had a below-average chin, he would have been out.
My point here is that AJ's punches do not carry the same power as Wilder. I also think Wilder has the better (though marginal) chin. Wilder also has the better killer instinct and will not let AJ recover. AJ seems more tactical when he has his opponent hurt - he does stay on top of them but they can recover too. We need them to fight to see the real outcome.

That's likely too. I do see it unlikely that if AJ lands first then Wilder recovers. But again both AJ and Wilder have come back from the trenches so won't be surprised if it goes the distance too.

Bro, I thought Wilder won round 2 clearly and could have been given either of 3 or 4 (more likely 4). For all Wilder's talk outside the ring, you could see in the ring that he did respect Ortiz's technical and counter-punching abilities. Rightfully so - it is the punches you don't see that usually cause the most damage.
On the AJ-Wilder, I think AJ will land 1st but Wilder will survive. Then, Wilder will land and AJ won't survive. I don't think Wilder will be overly aggressive but I see AJ being overly aggressive just based on his style of fighting.

Yeah makes sense. But it did take Wilder 5 rounds to start punching in the fight. Anyone's fight. Whoever lands first.

I agree that Wilder's defense some times is poor. I don't agree on the jab. I think he has the best jab of the remaining 3. Ortiz made it more difficult for Wilder to use it. I think stylistically, the fear of being counter-punched to death by Ortiz made Wilder gun-shy. Ortiz was also pivoting more than usual.
On the height and reach advantage, nothing we can say or do will change the fact that Wilder is taller and longer than AJ, albeit slight. It is what God gave him. Now, whether he is able to use it well or not against AJ is another matter.
First things first: AJ needs to win against Parker. It will be a shame to have all the bickering on these sites only for AJ to lose.

Wilder's defence and jab are poor though. He won't survive an AJ right hand. And he won't have a height or reach advantage over AJ as he had over Ortiz either.

I think Wilder is more likely to survive AJ's right hand than the other way. Wilder's right hand is just a one of a kind.

Wilder impressed the Hell out of me Saturday night with his toughness. I said leading up to the fight; Previously that it was going to come down to the man who wanted it the most and in this case it was Deontay Wilder.
He displayed a ton of heart, balls, fortitude, guts, will power, determination and perseverance. Those are the traits that champions are made of. He just wanted it more than the real "King Kong" Luis Ortiz.

And that will be the key. Wilder has more exists like moving around to ring to recoup if he is hurt but Joshua doesnt have as many escape routes and when Wilder gets Joshua hurt and turns it up, then end is near. Wilder wins by late KO.
Not in the US. AJ does not bring jack into the US if the fight is in Vegas. Even the Hearns agreed that the fight is more likely to make money here than in UK - which most of us that know about the numbers have been saying for a while but the delusional folks on here were arguing stupidly against.
You useless kant, Joshua have more fans in US than Wilder.

Yes, Wilder is getting paid Millions to fight in the US. He's not getting peanuts in comparison at all.
In fact, he should take 60% of the pot. Joshua will be a very lucky man to one day make the kind of payday that Wilder makes in the land of milk and honey. Foolish me.
I agree. It is really going be a case of who gets through first? Bombs away.

If you think 40-50% of the cake is fair, then your business head isn't worth ****.
AJ brings 95% to the table whereas Wilder brings 5%. Wilder is clearly pricing himself out. If you can't see that then that's your problem.

And there's no way Wilder survives an AJ right hand either. It works both ways.

Awesome fight! I'm now convinced that Wilder will stop AJ. AJ has more goods but Wilder's heart and athleticism will prevail. AJ has to boost his stamina if he wants to beat Wilder.
Hearn needs to take his silly talk of fighting Miller or a rematch with Whyte right out of here. The only fight that matters in the heavyweight division is Wilder v A.J. .Once limited Parker is banged out then Hearn needs to come back from his fantasy island and give Wilder the right share of the cake as the way I see it he will be the last man standing.

There is no way that AJ survives that right hand. This fight made me a believer. He got hurt but survived and showed grit and determination. Wilder is the baddest man on the planet not named Stipe.
