Looks illegal but it's easy for the ref to miss it, and wasn't deliberate. I thought it landed more on the side when I first saw it. Yeah same here. It looked to be further forward initially. One thing I did notice was Canelo landed plenty of shots that were scored using his palm.

However looking at it again in slow motion it hit Canelo bring the ear so it's not a legal punch.

Canelo's shot is undoubtably illegal. Golovkin's is legal. Canelo landed with his palm. Golovkin landed on the side of Canelo's head with the knuckle portion of the glove. So not sure who you are referring to..

Since it was during the action and did not land in the back area of the head, it's legal.

Notice how some people who complained about this cheered when Wilder got hit in the back of the head.
