Prince Naseem Hamed has fired fresh shots at Chris Eubank Jr following his defeat to George Groves. The 44-year-old former unified featherweight champion tore into Junior during a ruthless analysis of the 28-year-old's loss to super-middleweight rival Groves last weekend. And a week on, it seems he hasn't changed his mind. Click Here To Read More]
He’s just poking at Chris senior, but how the mighty have fallen! Chris senior however, is a picture of physical fitness always impeccably dressed. Hamed was and now isn’t. It’s a shame.
Eubank is world class.
He's nowhere near that level. Read ApolloCreed's post further up the thread. The reason the reaction to his defeat has been so harsh is that Groves exposed the sorts of weaknesses that world class, or even Euro class fighters just don't have.
He may have a world class engine, he may be the fittest fighter in the division, but he's got some serious flaws that any boxer worth his salt will ruthlessly expose. Unless and until those flaws are addressed he has no business being in a ring with a top level opponent at SMW or MW for that matter.
That's what Naz saw that night and he wasn't the only one. Any trainer, any decent fighter matched against him has a routemap to victory based on Jr's lack of fundamental boxing skills.
Hamed is the one who was so damn sure Eubank was going to win, he probably put big money on the fight and is now imploding.
He lost all his pizza and burger money
Hamed had been awol for a long time but seeing more of him now.
But khan maybe trolling a little. Eubank is world class. But lower tier world class not upper echelon.
So he’d beat most but not groves, ggg or nello guys. But if he improves who knows. But he’s a world class sparrer and looks better than anyone on wall punch bags with his uppercuts
More of a case of people underrating groves for a long time
Absolutely. Apart from that Froch knockout, nobody has ever dominated Groves. Even in that Froch II fight it was competitive until he got caught with that shot. The worst version i've ever seen of Groves only lost a SD to Badou Jack
Groves is underrated. He's a world level fighter. There's no shame in anyone losing to him.
I still think Eubank will always fall short at that level though.
it just seems most fighters and media in the UK don’t like the Eubanks because of their arrogance and just want to kick them when their down
No shame in losing to BJS & Groves both have proved to be top shelf fighters
I'd have a lot more time for him if he wasn't such a fraud in terms of him and his Dad saying he was a combination of Roy Jones and James Toney who was going to the top of the p4p list, and could beat Ward and GGG.
Also the way he built up a following of clueless casual fans who actually believed them that he was world class, on the back of his endless instagram videos and a load of hand picked opponents.
They brought all the flack on themselves, I've listened to them clearly talk **** about him being a world beater for the last 6 years - all the time I could see he was nothing special.
If they had just said he had potential and still had to work on his skills, I wouldn't find them so insufferable.
Acrimony or not - the question still stands: Eubank Jr appears to have all a fighter needs in order to succeed at the highest level.
So is his Dad a bad influence on him, Is there relationship holding Jr back somehow, OR is Jr so arrogant that he listens to no one, believing he doesn't need help?
This is the second time Jr has been exposed by a better boxer. Saunders and Groves are not even close to the best boxers in the world, so Jr obviously either needs to improve his boxing skills or dedicate himself to becoming a pressure fighter. He supposedly trains all year round and is in great condition all the time, but I'm still bewildered by his move up to 168 that was sudden and inexplicable.
He hasn't got everything a fighter needs to be a success, because he's missing the most important ingredient - good fundamentals.
They are the base on which everything else is supposed to be built on - good footwork, balance, control of distance and ability to jab. You're supposed to learn them as an amateur before you turn pro, so they are ingrained as good habits.
Eubank Jr skipped a proper amateur schooling because he was so arrogant he thought he didn't need one.
At 28 going on 29, it's very late for him to change his bad habits now. He's likely to be stuck in his ways.
Poor footwork and balance is why it's so easy for good boxers like Groves and Saunders to out box him.
All styles of fighters should have good fundamentals, including pressure fighters. Even guys like Ricky Hatton had decent footwork and balance.
H ewas knocking ut everyone he fought at 160, even if they were abit lesser.
Groves has been a bit underrated
At super middleweight, I doubt if Chris Eubank can overcome the likes of Gilberto Ramirez, Benavidez etc to win a recognised title belt.
I see him rather making an impact in the middleweight division because of his size and punching power.

Not that inexplicable if he actually believed he was as good as he said he was, man. The WBSS carries a very tasty prize fund and while it ain't on the level of the Cruiser tourney the winner of the SMW group will raise their stock a pile and can expect decent fights on the back of it.
1. Naseem was asked about his comments by Charlotte after his post-fight went viral on Twitter.
2. He said what he believes. He has enough money to not care about ITV.
3. Naseem won the WBO, IBF, WBC and, technically, the WBA and defended it from 1995 to 2001.
4. If Naseem says Eubank is sh1t then he's sh1t.
5. Naseem is old school and responds in person like a man

Chris Eubank Jr should move back to the middleweight. He is small and lacks power at super middleweight.

If he didn't already make it obvious that this was a personal vendetta, Naz has now made it abundantly clear. Stick to the fast food mate; we know you are a burger king, and no longer a boxing prince.
Dude....too funny!
