Bernard Hopkins ducked Adonis Stevenson
When Adonis hid under Haymon's skirt,
Espinoza chimed in and said the Haitian made the right move saying Hopkins is the bigger fight for Adonis.
Saying in effect, forget fighting Kovalev. Give it up doe, it's not important.
Guess what doe. Hopkins vs Stevenson never happened.
That's even during the time Hopkins was all praised for Showtime and appreciated GBP being associated with it.
In fact, the strangest thing happened:
Hopkins fought Kovalev on HBO!! And not in his home network SHO at that time!
Haha... the Stevenson quacking produced a lot of clowns as a result.
It's comical. I wonder what Espinoza is saying now about Quackenson.
Showtime lost the Adonis vs Hopkins fight!

SHO's Espinoza on Hopkins: No Childish Ban Like HBO Did
Stephen Espinoza, head of Showtime Sports, is not taking Bernard Hopkins' decision personally. Espinoza's network was trying to finalize a light heavyweight unification between Hopkins and Adonis Stevenson for a date in October or November - but then Hopkins unexpectedly walked across the street to rival network HBO and finalized a unification against Sergey Kovalev for November.
"It did surprise me simply because he took less money to fight Kovalev. At this stage of his career, Bernard has been very clear that he wants to maximize revenues. That's the way it surprised me. But from a boxing perspective it's part of the business. he wanted to take on Kovalev and I don't fault him for that. If he wants the Kovalev fight, then at this stage of his career he has a handful of fights left, if that, and if he wants to prioritize that fight I'm not going to hold it against him,"
Espinoza told BoxingScene.com.
He's fighting Jack next. Although it's not a super fight, it's a great match up and we finally see Stevenson in a competitive fight which we haven't in years.
True! I haven't seen much press on it but you are right, Jack is a legitimate guy and a win over him cannot be overlooked. I haven't even read much in Montreal about the fight although the French papers are probably covering it.
Except you guys keep omitting the one when Kov was all fired up ready to KTFO Adonis, but all of a sudden, Stevenson severed ties with HBO and hid under uncle Haymon's skirt.
What the hell happened?
thats not what happened. the fight on the table from hbo was fonfara. stevenson was a restricted free agent and presented hbo with the best offer he'd received for the fonfara fight. hbo refused to match. had nothing to do with kovalev.
but kovalev demanded 50/50 and the wbc and stevenson said yes.
then kovalev refused to fight.
how is that not a duck? kovalev requests to be mandatory. wbc says yes. kovalev requests 50/50. wbc says yes. wbc orders the fight. kovalev vacates and refuses to fight.

Doe. Like someone said, Kovalev has no history of pricing himself out.
And justifiably so. He doesn't consider himself or his division as something millions of fans start gathering around.
In contrast, Quackenson was always talking about getting the bigger slice of the pie, like in the Pascal case, Hopkins, etc.
He's A-side doe. He's champ doe.
You know it, but you guys prefer lying to yourselves.

So you admit it's a duck when Kovalev is mandatory and then refuses to take the fight, correct?

Ward will fight anyone, his resume speaks for itself. Stevenson needs to make Ward an offer, Ward will consider if the offer is good enough for him to come out of retirement.
Like I said, Adonis' quacking produced a lot clowns as a result.
His fake fans are saying Hopkins ducked him.
And Hopkins would rather fight Kovalev. Haha...
What a stupid sport. Fake fans supporting ducks.
Kills me.
Doe, it's not rocket science to recognize ducks.
Espinoza chimed in and said the Haitian made the right move saying Hopkins is the bigger fight for Adonis.
Guess what doe. Hopkins vs Stevenson never happened.
That's because Hopkins ducked Stevenson. Taking a less interesting fight, with less at stake, for less money, against Kovalev because Hopkins thought he had a better chance of beating Kovalev than beating Stevenson. Taking a smaller fight for less money because you fear the bigger fight for more money = duck.
And Kovalev's duck of Stevenson can't be disputed. He vacated his title and refused to fight after being the one demanding to be mandatory in the first place.
Stevenson is a victim of circumstance. Big stars don't want to take the risk against his one punch knockout power, then fans blame Stevenson for not fighting big names.
It's not his fault. He can't force people to fight him. He's now making a voluntary defense against Badou Jack, one of the most highly regarded fighters in the division. What else is Stevenson supposed to do?
It is true. All these idiots say "Superman is a cherry-picker. Look at him fighting bums like Bellew." Then the same idiots turn around and say, "Yea, Ward should fight Bellew." Ward beat one of the top guys at lhw, but lets not act like he was undisputed champ. Ward himself just said the lhw division is full of talent.
And I am a big Ward fan. He fought everyone in the Super Six and then Dawson and then came back and beat Kov. So I just do not understand why Ward refuses to even consider fighting Adonis, but keeps talking about this Bellew bum. This is the first time Ward genuinely seems scared to fight someone. I don't get it. I think Ward would win, but he is definitely rattled and a little scared of the prospect of a fight with Adonis. Ward stole Kov's soul, but Adonis retired Ward. Knowing he would be pressured to fight the best lhw in Adonis, Ward instead decided to retire. And maybe come back for Adonis' leftover cherries.
That's not what happened. HBO asked him to fight Fonfara, but SHO offered more money for the Fonfara fight. HBO, if he beat Fonfara, wanted him to fight Kovalev. SHO, if he beat Fonfara, wanted him to fight Hopkins. HBO had the right to match SHO's offer, but refused.
Kovalev then requested to fight for the WBC diamond title and become Stevenson's mandatory if he won. The WBC said no problem. The WBC then ordered Kovalev to fight Stevenson, but Kovalev refused to fight him and vacated his title.
All of these facts can be easily proven, so if there is any information in this post you weren't aware of, please let me know and I will post supporting links so you can see that everything I'm saying is true.

Showtime lost the Adonis vs Hopkins fight!
Kovalev, Hopkins fought each other. Chickenson's name is not in there.
That's because both of them ducked Stevenson, assuming that fighting each other was an easier fight.
Stevenson is the real champion in the division. He shouldn't have to chase anybody. Nonetheless, he did chase Hopkins, switching to Showtime to try to fight him, so Hopkins left Showtime to avoid him.
Kovalev then became Stevenson's mandatory, but refused to fight Stevenson when the fight was ordered.
Stevenson has been a champ since 2013, Ward came into light heavyweight and in just over a year fought the guy Stevenson should have in Kovalev
That's because Kovalev refused to fight Stevenson. You can't force someone to fight you.
Adonis had more than enough time to fight bigger names. Kov did everything under the sun to get that fight made.
Kovalev then requested to fight for the WBC diamond title and become Stevenson's mandatory if he won. The WBC said no problem. The WBC then ordered Kovalev to fight Stevenson, but Kovalev refused to fight him and vacated his title.

Adonis ran away and sought shelter under Haymon's skirt when he was about to fight Kovalev.

So Adonis is basically saying Ward is ducking him. Doe.
It may be true, or may not be. Who knows?
One thing is certain, Ward fought and beat Kovalev twice.
Adonis ran away and sought shelter under Haymon's skirt
when he was about to fight Kovalev.
I keep forgetting about Stevenson. When is this guy going to have a super fight?
He's fighting Jack next. Although it's not a super fight, it's a great match up and we finally see Stevenson in a competitive fight which we haven't in years.
